a up any one had to replace the diff bearing the one connects diff to prop rear ?

replaced the gearbox mounts today they must have been original next is the engine mounts. hope it sorts the thumping when reversing.

repaired the back door panel with new hardboard just not able to pinion bearing for a few weeks

put grease in the uj joints and seems a little better but I think James has diagnosed the problem its the pinion bearing saying that drove very well felt quite responsive steering good and quite light do you need to take the diff off to replace the bearing

cheers James will give it a go going to use it for a while and see if anything else goes wrong first it has plenty of oil in the diff so would think it will last

thanks for comments back seats in now had a look at the diff seams ok no play in the pinion

its a PASS bit of a whine when I decelerate from the rear diff any ideas ???

new flexi fitted and clutch working again try for MOT in the next few days and lets hope it passes

Got to the MOT station and drove their fine handed the keys to the tester he goes out and short time later returns says sorry mate no clutch. Managed to bleed the slave cylinder and get it home and today changed the master cylinder but still no clutch. Turns out the flexi hose has given up so...

Hi I am just finishing the same model but changed the colour to grey as it had been painted white by a previous owner (badly). the head liner I managed to spray in a PVC paint and now looks OK, Their is many parts out their but most of mine came from e bay or paddocks. Good luck with the rebuild

hi tried to fit a sender today but its a blue bag bodge. Instruction said to solder but would not take so see photo. Landraver you are correct the gearbox is 2mm from the cross member so new mount required Cheers

Ok had a drive up and down and had a juddering from the clutch and bit of a thump under the floor as you pull away any suggestion's had a look at the exhaust seems ok and clear of the gearbox. Photo of the landrover ready for action Cheers
