    Non start 2.0 DI

Sorry it’s been a while on those update. My wife and I have been deep into restoring our house having it fully retired new plumbing and gas etc, so I’ve not really had the time to spend on the old freelander. I’m considering letting her go or possibly breaking. What do you guys think? I’ve got...

    Non start 2.0 DI

When I cracked off the bleed nipple on the pump intake pipe that was under the pressure from pumping the bulb. But the fuel from The injector pipes aren’t under cranking pump pressure. I’ve been working on the neighbours car and now my mums car so I’ve not had a chance to look at the freelander...

This is what I thought. It’s obviously pumping in some way. There was no air coming from each injector either. Well I cranked it with a little brake cleaner and it didn’t each cough. So I’ll need to check the engine timing but it’s definitely got decent compression, when I turned it over by hand...

See I did think that the glow plug would light up even if it was hot. What’s the ECT? I’m assuming your referring to engine temp? I’m starting to think it might well be the ECU. Oh man I think I’ve bought a lemon! Well I haven’t had a chance to plug it in and see what the sensors are...

So I looked at the timing and it appears that from the last pump belt change that it’s timed up correctly but that’s from the paint makes they put not pinned. I looked at the pump wiring/plug and it looked ok. What is it that I’m looking for on this? I’ve not had chance to plug it in yet and see...

    Non start 2.0 DI

Well up on priming the pump etc it’s definitely got or had red diesel in it. The mot expired last April and it’s been as up since December so I suspect it’s been used off road for the months between then and it sitting up. Once I’ve sorted the timing I’ll see if it will start. I’ve got a...

    Non start 2.0 DI

Well I think I managed to buzz some life back into the battery. I charged it on full whack for an hour or so(it got a little hot...oooops) then pulled the water caps off and left it on trickle charge for the rest of the day. Doing a drop test it held 9 volts for about 10-15 seconds before the...

Well the fuel definitely returns to the tank, and I’ve not been able to get the bulb to really go hard. I can keep pumping, it goes firm but not hard. I’ll need to figure that out but I suspect it’s got a leak of some sort however minor. Well I checked that there’s fuel at the pump. I cracked...

Well what I meant was all the fuel had drained back to the tank. Unless there’s a leak of some sort weather fuel or air even if it’s been sat up there should be some fluid already primed in those lines. I’ll try spend some time on it tonight and get an idea what I’m looking at

I think the mot ran out last year. It has been sat up since December, I’ll get a fresh mot on it when it’s running. Well that remains to be seen, so far I’ve invested enough in buying the thing in the first place. It depends how much it now costs me to get it running. Here’s a couple photos...

For Sale Freelander TD4 x2 Breaking For Spares

Not sure how you have got on with this selling so far. How much to ship one of the prop shafts to RG2 9PJ. I know shipping might be the expensive part but if you can have a look and see what cost? Or let me know a collection address, 3 dimensions and weight and I’ll see how much for it to...

    Non start 2.0 DI

Well I got the car back last night. By the time I got home it was issuing it down and had just gone dark so I didn’t feel like messing with it. I’ve got the battery at work on charge as it’s a dead one! Hopefully it can come back to life and doesn’t need replacing. I did quickly pump the fuel...

Wow incredible how cheap he sells drill bits for ! I’m sure I can find a few bits laying around. As I said earlier yodaman I haven’t actually bought or picked it up yet. Should be doing that tomorrow after work. Will keep you guys updated once I start looking at it.

Easy peasy, any ideas what size the pins are? If I didn’t have a timing kit I usually just use drill bits tbh. And a rough idea where the crank locking pin might be? I’m sure the pump locking should be easy enough to see from above. My dads gonna help me tow it back Tuesday evening so I’ll...

Thank you for the help guys, in terms of the frost and water in the tank it’s wctually cut out on him in November/December time so it’s only been sat over winter because of that. GrumpyGel, with the pump belt is that a separate belt to the timing belt? He mentioned something about having the...

Hi guys hope all is well. I’ve not been on the forum for a few years since I got rid of my D1. I went to look at a freelander 2.0DI tonight that has a suspected ecu fault. The story goes... driving across a field and suddenly the engine cuts out. He’s had an auto electrician come and check...

    Rear prop alignment

Unfortunately I believe that the prop still needs to be aligned despite only having one UJ. Try and turn the prop on the diff around one turn and see if that makes a difference. If I'm right in thinking the bolt pattern is a triangle? Which means you have 2 more positions to try. If non of...

    Newbie 200tdi disco

Over the last week I started to hear a sort of metallic noise that slowly got worse, now I know that both the diffs are leaking and also the transfer box too but I didn't think they where that bad. I was worried one of them was running out of oil. Any ways it got to the point where I needed to...

2006 RRSport brake pedal solid until revved

Right so I've taken a pic of the servo etc and an above shot too. Apologies for the poor quality I don't have a PC so it's all phone. The pipe that runs in front of the master cylinder is the vacuum pipe, and has a quick release coupling. As said the vacuum appears to be ok. Or at least...
