    Problem with sticking handbrake, searched out some good advice elsewhere on this forum. Inside the rear brake drum is a mechanism that has a small arm that goes through the brake shoe. This is supposed to pivot but was completely seized, sorted now

    Coincidentally just been on Bell Engineering website as recommended by others on this forum looking for VCU and support bearings, £60/pair - seems reasonable but you would need to add labour for fitting. I would say the whole prop needs to come off in order to separate the bearings from the VCU...

    good point about the brakes binding so may as well try the other side. before the one wheel up test I reversed on full lock both ways and it felt like the brakes were on

    due to new vibration when driving did 1 wheel up test: 1.2m bar, 5kg weight, timing was 6 minutes from 45 to 90 degrees not going anywhere for a bit!

I have a 2L TD4 and recently started feeling slight vibration that wasn't there before, checked all mountings, bearing play, even tyre weights then caught this thread. did one up wheel test with 1.2m bar and 5KG weight. took over 6 minutes to drop from 45 degrees to horizontal!!
