Just replaced the temp switch behind the bumper (landrover part / green type) and the FBH is now working and does what it says on the tin !

My wife has a name WWN Wicked Witch of the North but she admits to nothing as she likes the Freelander :rolleyes:

Yesterday whilst driving home the front wiper delay stopped working. Then I noticed the delay was in fact operating the rear wiper which was not activated ! After stopping and turning off the engine and restarting and driving off the wiper delay worked fine. Then I could hear all the door...

Well I am note sure my FBH is doing its told ! It certainly comes on when the air temperature is well above 5 deg and well up in to 10 deg and when I stop after a reasonably long journey the FBH is still running ! Then when I switch off the ignition it continues running for about 1 to 2 mins...

After examining the heated rear window on my Freelander 1, it is obvious the fault is due to some of the heating elements being damaged / missing. So I have 3 options. 1 do nothing. 2 replace the window. 3 repair the damaged heating elements. So my question is about 3 and can anyone advise me if...

Can these 3 mountings be fitted reasonably easy without having to disconnct the drive shafts or prop shaft ?

My heater control has a destinctive click when fully off / cold and the FBH looks to only start up when the heater control is above the lower 'clicked' limit. Has anyone else noticed this ?

As said by MHN a seized VCU will cause expensive damage. And a (broken) free wheeling VCU will just not provide RWD. I shall be carrying out the advised test and will post my results.
