    300tdi lift kit

For a budget lift, fit 2” spring spacers, you will need new +2” rear shocks ( britpart worked fine for me ) and use towbar spacers to drop the rear ARB mountings. Front shocks can remain.

And try to avoid carrying extra fuel / water on your roof rack. It may look good but will have a huge impact on stability.

    200tdi - suddenly lacks power

I would just replace the lift pump just to eliminate it as the problem. When priming it, the manual lever will not work if the lever in the engine is on the peak of the cam. If this is the case just give the engine a quick turn over then try again.

    Ideas about my springs please?

Refitting the original springs with 2 inch spacers may be your solution. Also, tow bar spacers can be used to lower the rear anti roll bar mounts as removing it should result in an MOT failure.

Nice. So I assume a roof tent is next on the shopping list?

New Owner - Chippenham. An itch I had to scratch... A bit of welding advice too please?

Welcome. For meeting like minded people I would suggest you join the SAD Lanndrover club. They often have landing days around your area.

Afternoon All - new 300tdi owner

Nice choice. It probably will never depreciate but look after it as they are target for thieves.

    2 inch lift kit

I lifted my old D1 with spacers. Worked fine. But needed to buy +2” rear shock as the originals topped out and had to refit the rear ARB using tow bar spacers.

I want to buy a Landrover

I feel now forced into a confession. My current vehicle is a Jeep Grand Cherokee, with the 2.7 merc diesel, 2” lift and a set a kumho MT 51 knobblies. Please forgive me LZers.

I want to buy a Landrover

I think my choice would be a rust free 300 TDI discovery auto with air con and without sunroofs. Good luck in trying to find one!

Disco 2 Just how good are they off road?

They would be a lot better if the rear overhang wasn’t so huge. Add a tow bar an things get even worse. If I ever end up owning one, my first job will be a 2 inch lift.

    Anti rollbar

Yes, take it off and put it back on. Did it flip because you have a lift? I so buy a couple of towbar spacers to give the ARB the same lift as your truck. You could remove it but it will fail the next MOT because of it and refitting mine probably saved me from flipping onto its side on a French...

    Expedition advice.

For Scotland you will need a heater that works. For Morocco you will need air conditioning. For the European motorways you will need something with a bit of go in it so you're not stuck with all the lorries in the slow lane. You would be better off with something that is simple and easy to fix...

    Fun in the snow

I think I need to move. But shouldn't you get yourself a car with a functioning heater and door seals that seal? Or was it just my old 90 that these items failed to operate at 100% efficiency?

How noisy should my new clutch be?

Hope it wasn't a 'transmech' clutch kit you fitted. If it was, there's your problem.

    TD5 or V8

I'm assuming that your mileage will be on the low side and you have never owned a V8, in which case this needs ticking off your bucket list. I have owned 3 V8's. Two were very reliable and done many trouble free miles. One slipped its liner, blew the heater matrix and filled the passenger...

    Probably the wrong place

Forget thoughts of educating this scum. They are simply vermin and always will be. The slap on the wrist that they may not even get from your local plod won't change them. The only positive here the broken arm, shame it wasn't his neck though.
