Not replaced a turbo on one myself but I understand its a shyte job

Turbo would be my first thought ,I'd guess 3500 to 4000 grand all done

That sounds like a lack of oil feed , but difficult to tell from a recording

I get around 150 miles to 50 quids worth of diesel in mine around town :(

Dont waste your time.......go back to the garage that failed it and ask for an appeal form. His governor wont like the ministry poking around in his paperwork and procedures. :)

As a precaution I would take the intercooler pipes off and check for oil in them........and maybe remove the intercooler and check/drain any oil from it. I'm paranoid about diesel runaway :rolleyes:...........

I had one, it used to wash up, cook and make tea too , till it fecked orf :rolleyes:

I set the auxiliary heater for 7;30 am tomorrow so its toasty warm when I leave for work @ 8;00 :D

Sounds like Diesel runaway , the low oil warning was a clue , possably caused by blown turbo seals.............engine runs on its own oil at high revs until it dies
