    Aaargh! Track Rod End

Ok so I hit the track rod end with the hammer...hard...really hard...then with the persuader...REALLY hard on the side and it still wasn't budging. So I cut it off with an angle grinder. Now I'm left with this (see images). Tried heat but only got a blowtorch and I don't think it got hot...

    Drum Brake - Forked Adjuster

Just stripping and rebuilding the drum brakes. Took plenty of pics before disassembling but have a query regarding the forked adjuster bar. The forked end with the longer fork and shorter fork...which way around should it go? Does the long fork go on the front or on the back? Also regarding the...

I bought some side steps for my facelift freelander in order to access the roofbox for an upcoming camping trip (yes I'm a bit of a short arse at 5' 8). One of the brackets for the steps was knackered with a bit broken off so I had a new one fabricated. The problem I've got is that in the old...

    Bonnet latch mechanism

My Freelander facelift bonnet cable snapped on me. I'm in the process of getting to the mechanism to open the bonnet and have removed 3 rivets off the plastic under guard. I can now see the spring mechanism as pictured. Dumb question so apologies in advance but do I need to be pushing back or...

    Hello...great forum...ownership started today

I finally found a rather nice Freelander 1 TD4 2004 facelift today and have bought it for a little below book price. So far so good, a few silly little faults to get my teeth into...parking sensors, centre armrest, gear knob. Always wanted one and now have one so very happy at this point...
