As I expected with RRC ownership, my '93 LSE has various issues that are getting attended to as & when I can BUT, I'm wondering if my suspicions are right with the latest faults... Changed oil & filter (10W/40), all good. Changed air filter, cleaned housing, all good. Water pump started leaking...

In the end I bought a new VCU from Ashcroft, fitted it & all is well now :-) I can now go round tight roundabouts!!

Well The VC is virtually half the price of the replacement box, but I thought it better to change the complete thing? From the service history, the transfer box has never been touched so at 157,000 miles it must be about due for at least a chain? That said, my car hasn't had a hard life so...

I bought my LSE knowing full well that the rear body crossmember was rotten... like there's virtually nothing left of it! The lower tailgate seal aperture is a section of metal that's been bonded on top of the rusty crossmember (the crossmember has remains of filler from previous repairs)...
