Freelander 1 - difficult gear change when engine is warm.

I missed the TD4 bit. Typical of me to only read half the post before responding...

Freelander 1 - difficult gear change when engine is warm.

Also check out the clutch bracket. Mine had exactly the same problem, and was taking most of my strength to change gear sometimes. Changing the bracket sorted it permanently.

    Freelander 1 Motorway

I took my 2001 K-series on a european road trip several years ago. 4,000 miles through 9 countries over 14 days. Never missed a beat. Also done several much longer trips in the UK. Perfect each time. As long as it's kept maintained, it'll last forever. I've owned mine since 2006. I've...

Freelander 1 Does anyone make repair panels for the FL1?

Not looking for any myself, just looking at the project threads and it dawned on me that I hadn't seen any for the FL1, but then again, I hadn't been actively looking for them either.

Freelander 1 Does anyone make repair panels for the FL1?

I'll admit I only had a cursory look, but the few sites I was looking on simply said "delivery when in stock", or "direct from manufacturer", with nothing concrete. Thought you guys would know for sure... :)

Freelander 1 Does anyone make repair panels for the FL1?

I was reading through some of the project threads where people were simply buying repair panels for discos, series etc and wondered if anything like that was available for the freebie 1?

What have you done to your Freelander today

Ouch... How does damage like that happen and not feck the entire engine?

Freelander 1 Draw that fits in the back of a freelander 1 3dr

I couldn't find any, even the commercial ones, so I made my own. Single sheet of plywood, some glue and a jigsaw. Cost me about £20. Has space for petrol can, fire extinguisher, army surplus cool box and coolant bottle, plus numerous other spares. I can't take a pic as my rear door won't...

Freelander 1 How to do the facelift job

Welcome to LZ, and thanks for the informative post. This is a job lots of us want (or think about) to do.

Freelander 1 ES Premium or HSE?

That clears up my confusion. Thanks Nodge :)

Freelander 1 ES Premium or HSE?

I've had landrover tell me on different occasions that the ES Premium and the HSE is the top spec for the freeby 1. Both were adamant it was the particular model they were talking about that was the best, so my question is, which is it really?

    Drivers side Foot Well Light

Is this a standard fit part? I've had my freebie for 11 years, and I've never seen it light up! But then, I didn't know there was a light in the glovebox until a few weeks ago...

    Freelander 1 G4 Freelander anyone?

I know it's orange, but is it a G4? Can't see the usual accessories... Nice easy fix for £500 though :)

What have you done to your Freelander today

Welcome to Landyzone. Feel free to ask any questions, even if you think they're stupid, and don't pay any attention to the idiots on the other boards, especially the trattor boys :)

    Freelander Stuck in Gear

The master and slave is a single sealed unit. It shouldn't get air inside unless you open the lid on top (don't do this...)

    Freelander 1 Roof Ladder

Check out Muddymods. The owner is a member of the Freelander forum, and I've seen the g4 ladder on his site in the past.

    Brake line

Most breakdown companies will take you somewhere, even if you don't have an mot. The day the mot ran out on my dead range rover, the AA came and moved it 15 yards from the road onto my drive, no problem at all. Also had the RAC move a Freelander to a garage when I wanted them to check over...

    Freelander Stuck in Gear

This was about 10 years ago. Since then I put my ego in check and accept there's many other people who know considerably more about my car than I do :)

    Freelander Stuck in Gear

+1. When I was first told this, I thought it was bollocks. Loads of people on different forums said it was the bracket, but they were wrong, after all, what difference can a bracket make when it's obviously a problem with the gearbox. In the end I realised that only Land Rover would know for...
