What did you do with your Range Rover today

Had the gearbox removed, again...back to the transmission shop under warranty.. Have bought new track and control arms for the front, and new anti roll bar bushes - hmm....bit of a job to come! Stipped the dash down - to find the most horrendous buzzing rattle!! Arrghh!!... Found a couple...

    do I, dont I? p38 to l32

Yup - so so true!! The one big final killer reason I went back to Landy was simply because the knowledge about them - how to fix them etc is so so good. The forums and indys are si used to the motors!!! Now - if a vw Toerag goes wrong (was my alternative to the RR) then even the stealers shyed...

    strange whooshing sound

I had a similar issue with my 2003 TD6 the other week. An extra bit of wooshing sound and slight loss of general oooomphhh... In my case it was a failed electronic valve on the EGR circuit - found when plugging into diags.. Changed the valve (about £50) and then perfect again.

    do I, dont I? p38 to l32

I've had a string of Landrovers and also a number of so called reliable cars from manufacturers that can't be mentioned here. I've used them all for daily driving about 12k miles per year..and boat towing and launching off slipways, beaches, mud etc. Given the ease of working on them, cost of...

    Fuel consumption Poll

XEDI - It's always been between 38.5 and 41.5mpg - more or less 50% town and 50% Motorway driving.. so depends on how bad the traffic was I guess. No mods, all figures worked out by brimming the tank.. A dull post... might be useful to someone though..

2.5TD 19j - Smokes on start up - fine after...

My old 19J used to smoke a lot when cold, and it's something I see all the time with older generation marine engines.. In fact my old 19J could lay a good fog for the first few minutes on startup. If is still smokes a lot when fully warmed - that'll not be so great... My of 19J sadly had a...

Help needed with 1999 freelander TC & ABS

Hi Wollee 18. I also have a 1999 Freebee (L series) and have been through the same as you very recently. The ABS goes out once driven yes, the HDC light should go out if the sensors are ok fitted ok - but will flash up again if there's a too larger air gap or a damaged reluctor ring. My...

Do you regret buying a Freelander?

No, it's great. It was cheap to buy and is cheap to run - it drives nicely (bit noisy on the motorway- but passable - and probably quieter than an Audi TT), very torquey for a little diesel, it's a little Landy I can throw around locally - loves it off road, tows, carried..cracking little motor...

What have you done to your Freelander today

Had it running perfectly first thing this morning - that sweet spot with all faults fixed! Drove 40miles, now have a rattle as if an exhaust bracket (or something'orrible) is loose, and the N/S front window cables snapped! Ahh..back to normal then! :D

    knackerd abs sensors?

Hi Higgy. I have an earlier car - slightly different ABS system (thing sensors are the same - best check though), and have recently resolved my little 3 Amigos issue (Well, 2 amigos - as the HDC was fine - once I rewired the HDC switch). All I can report to help you is all my sensors were...
