Question for anybody, does the electric fuel pump on a freelander run constantly as when you turn ignition on it runs and doesn't stop, could this be due to it not reaching the correct pressure to knock it off or is this how they are?

Thanks the head gasket is fine no cross contamination of fluids and pressure test came back fine. As far as im aware they fitted a new one when i took it back i waited while they ran a diagnostic which said it was the sensor but didnt have time to wait for the part to arrive so i left it with them and collected it later.
