Help.......... Ok my 99 discovery td5 auto has a slight problem, when driving on a run it seems to be jerking, almost like it is slipping out of gear for a second, after a little while all drive disappears, it drops to idle and just won't play. Both the manual and sports indicators flash, as...

Need to do the brake discs & pads on my 99 td5 discovery, (making really strange noises now), done the pads before, no snags there, but are there any strange items required for the discs, or is it just a standard socket set job? Also, does anyone know the torque settings for the mounting bolts...

What do you get on a full tank ??

Apart from an empty wallet, I normally get around the 500 mile mark, can fill up 35 miles west of Glasgow, (out Loch Lomond way), and get to Portsmouth, though i really need to fill up again when i get there. That's sitting at 75mph with cruise control on. I have done Portsmouth to Carlisle...

I had this problem with mine, when it happened, i went straight back to LR and started complaining, (i'd only got it a week or so before), they had never heard about it, so after a 20min drive on various types of road with blokey from the garage dept, he worked out what it was, apparently it's...

    Check Auto Box Oil (TD5)

For working under the car, i've found that jacking it up, then lowering the front wheels onto a couple of solid breezeblocks gives enough room without much risk of falling, personally i don't trust axle stands on something that heavy. I've only done the engine oil with both filters and changed a...

Hi all, just wondered if there is any trick to refilling the auto box after draining etc, the filler plug doesn't seem to be in a very good place for tipping a bottle.

    NEWBIE with a lopsided disco

I had this exact same problem on my '99 TD5 a couple of years back. The control valve/compressor unit is faulty, needs to be replaced and set up again, (not cheap, needs plugged in at LR dealer). It can be run for a short time, just raise the suspension with the pushbutton and lower it again...
