The exhaust is the first thing I thought of and was thinking I could put a heat sheild on, but when I look at the exhaust it is too far away from gear box to generate that sort of heat. Tim

I have a similar problem. Just got my 90 2.5 diesel last week and when driving, the girlfriend noticed the back of her legs warming up. Hi/Low box lever and casing was mad hot. Can anyone advise on possible causes. the guy i bought it from told be that the lever was not connected he didn't know...
