Had the freelander in today and was told the thrum noise when changing to second gear is the gear linkage counter balance. Car will need to go in for a full day, ever heard of this before??

Noticed a thrum/vibration when changing to second gear, car also does it but less so if you rev to 1200 to 1300rpm. Freelander only has 250miles on so wondered if this was just because it was new or if this is common, just didn't seem to do it when we picked it up and has only just started...
