My 101 won't start. Ignition key just gets a CLICK when turned.

No. No i haven't. Would you have any idea whereabouts it might be? I searched for the fuse box a while ago and failed to find that! Oddly enough when i was holding the ignition key in crank position to feel if the battery terminals were getting hot earlier today i found i was staring straight at...

My 101 won't start. Ignition key just gets a CLICK when turned.

I'm familiar with the process as a mate used to own vintage cars. I know how to hold the handle to save trips to the xray department if it backfires but i've only started cars where you can retard the timing a bit. So i'd REALLY prefer to use the key

My 101 won't start. Ignition key just gets a CLICK when turned.

Yes, that's the one i meant. The one attached to the starter. I don't think that will be my problem as i'm getting the same CLICK on the old starter and the brand new one i've just fitted.

Please pardon the sudden absence. Got into work the wednesday before last to be told if i don't take the holidays carried over from last year by May 1st, i'll lose them. I haven't got any. You have seven. So that was me gone until tomorrow! Got back under the 101 and removed the earth strap...

What have you done to your Landie today.

Well i picked up the new slave cylinder on Thursday on the way to work. Decided to fit it yesterday. It went in alright and the number of threads in the hose hole must be the same as it tightened up with the cylinder being perfectly lined up with the holes in the bellhousing! Opened the bleed...

What have you done to your Landie today.

Still working through my (getting shorter) list of family and mates who want a ride in the 101. My nephew called in this morning. I was pre-warned so was checking the tyre pressures on it and the BM. The back two go down a few psi over a couple of weeks. I had to turn it around so the electric...

    Pioneer tools

I don't see why you can't simply make the brackets to fit the mattock head yourself, or have them made. If you have a vice it shouldn't be too hard to bend one using aluminium sheet. Get some cardboard(corn flake box or something similar) and make it out of that. Once you have worked out the...

Registering an ex mod Land Rover

When i built my kitcar i used enough of the donor car to qualify to use that reg number but before i could register it i had to get it inspected with a 'super MOT' at a DVLA test station. I had to insure it using the chassis number. Once it passed the inspection i was officially given the reg...

Series 2a diesel straight through exhaust

If it's a turbo charged engine then it probably won't be too bad. If no turbo then just wait for the blue lights flashing behind you...

    Dodgy?

Well if you think about it, which one would be easier to grab? The legal one parked at the address DVLA have, or the stolen one?

    Dodgy?

Nah, that magazine folded a year or so ago, but i hear they have a Youtube channel now. Not sure they be interested in this though.

    Dodgy?

"Could be arsed to go and see it" you mean? 🤣
  14. yfo866

    Oh No!

Oh i've had those sort of notes before, but from a local scrapyard. At least they used their own business cards...

Apparent forced entry and relay attack (no keyless entry) - Futile?

If you were in Japan and not Netherlands i'd suspect those marks meant some of the erm, iffy Japanese videos i've watched were based on real living things 😁

    L322 Road tax Proposed

Maybe if you'd asked me twenty or so years ago when they lived there, but not now, other than saying if they could claim it, they did!

    L322 Road tax Proposed

I think there are many people who will only be happy when Chump is in rigueur mortice! (that's either stiff as a board or behind a locked cell door)

    L322 Road tax Proposed

Oh they were quite proud of the fact that they didn't work and claimed for everything!

Thank you Fritze. Any Oil is better than no oil at all!

Yes, but have you never gone onto a forum looking for an answer to a question and seen person A say one thing and person B say the complete opposite and then person C claim they are BOTH wrong then person D agree with C except that C is wrong as well and then the next sixtythree pages are full...

Thank you Fritze. Any Oil is better than no oil at all!

I tend to fill things up with what the manufacturer states should go in it. I figure they should know better than some bloke 'down the pub/end of our street/local garage/internet experts' etc
