Happy days excellent news..... do you know dont worry about it... the amount of times I could have taken it slowly bit more oil etc to avoid a shear but am like nahh this is going well.....
So a question for purchase of second hand vehicle with DPF.... can you tell it has been on short runs ? Would proper decent runs reverse any short run damage.. I guess the mileage would tell a lot.
Aye,
totally this is why I had so much interest as if I had to replace the Defender it would likely with a Disco 4 and the whole DPF is new to me.
This is what the forum is about healthy debate and challenges. Quite happy if the OP turns out to be wrong but nice to hear all sides.
Yes your view counts
Not enough info which is why I found this interesting and didn't see the need to flame him (not you so apologies if my reply to your post came across that way),Yes

This clearly isn't your case, but I once had similar all the time, drove into a garage, he put it on the ramps them proceeded to pull a big plastic sack from the exhaust..... <cough> not one of my finer moments.
That is pragmatic and interesting.... .nice to read.
I guess it should be is your goal to "retain and run the old girl" or turn it into something Hybrid and entirely new. If its the former its ok.
I would have said 8k minimum tbh.
What does "all the gear" mean ?
Its low mileage and maintained.
You could take all the gear off flog it fix it and still have an 8k landrover.
I recall my most satisfying moments was on a 43 year old car finally having it running and then walking around it beaming and seeing a headlight out... cursed at the thought of removing the light and the issues with the weak fascia and availability of parts.
About to approach the parts lists, I...
If you get a decent sized nut and just fill it with weld you shouldnt have an issue, the heat alone will probably do half the job. I have had em welded on at a cack angle and its still came loose.
