That's true, but from cold, when the engine's been stationary, there's a short period where the fan is also kind of 'locked on' until the viscous fluid redistributes itself in the coupling. To be pedantic, it's ambient heat from the radiator rather than the water pump shaft, hence the fins on...

I changed the VC on my Classic without lifting it in the air at all. There was plenty of room under the car to do the job, so you'll have no problem using a set of ramps.

Unless you are saving loads of money over the cost of a new VC, don't go for a second-hand one. You'll have no idea when that one is going to seize up, much more sensible to get a new one and do the job once.

That costs more than getting it done properly!

The LT77 is a main gearbox - what transfer box do you have?

How are you going to ensure that the four corners of the car maintain a similar height/airbag pressure? Or are you going to just drive it around and deal with unpredictable handling as it arises? And make sure you inform your insurance company that you've compromised the suspension on your car...
