    Dash cam/reversing cam

@Nodge68 I know that. I’d charge it at home. Mentioned it as a back up in case we were away for a few days. I don’t really want to have to wire it in, although I could, it’s just a pain as I’ve recently tunnelled and tidied up all the aux wiring.

    Dash cam/reversing cam

Read a few threads on this but not quite found what I’m looking for. After a battery powered (don’t really want to hard wire and can recharge from the inverter in the vehicle if needed) and don’t have a fag lighter anymore. Really want a dash cam with reverse cam that can also function as a...

    Suspention

@andyjack One of the best things i did to my defender is remove the 2inch lift, fit standard springs from a puma at the front and heavy load springs (i have a roof tent, roll cage and a load of camping stuff at the back) on the rear with Terrafirma AT shocks front and back - i think the...

    Tyre Pressure help required

Use the recommended tire pressure at all times. On the farm if you get stuck - low range and diff lock - if still stuck get out and lower the pressures. They only time i've had to lower tire pressures was in southern africa and very deep sand.

    Glow plug leak

The glow plugs are sealed purely by the thread I thought and they aren’t tight either. You sure you haven’t over sized the hole. I had a glow plus strip pretty much all the thread out when I took it out. Just enough thread left for the new one and it’s not leaked past. Don’t think it take...

Chassis number and engine number punches

It’s more if you wanted to do a trip crossing a few borders and wanted everything to be in order. where would this information even exist?

Chassis number and engine number punches

@kevstar excellent I’ll be along with the loot… I mean genuine vehicles soon. @lynall I can imagine. To be honest you could just stamp with any punch roughly the same size and I doubt anyone would ever notice. But seriously though how can you get hold of these or are they just now relegated...

Noise from front NS tyre when turning right....

If you’ve changed the CV joint on that side and you’re confident it’s still in good order then it’s probably fine. In my experience new noise only on turning (especially if it’s on full lock) is the CV joint.

Chassis number and engine number punches

I’ve read a few threads but can’t find a definitive answer Is it possible to buy the punches (correct font and height) for the chassis no. And engine number for defenders? or is it possible to find out what the height and font should be?

    Popping landrover

@Plodwin589 i agree with @lynall if you’ve done the timing with the correct tools I’d back yourself to have done it correctly. It’s not a hard job. What were the circumstances around the belt snapping? If you’ve not looked at the push rods, rockers, valves etc and you’re just changing the...

    Advise on purchase

Honestly mate, don’t bother with any of that. Save your money for the mechanicals as an when they need doing. There will be issues you don’t know about yet, sorting them is part of the fun, but harder if you’ve spent all ya cash on shiny add ons.

    Landrover Defender 90 200Tdi - Brakes/calipers , Radio electrics and security

why Land Rover didn’t fit all of these with grease nipples I do not know edit - make sure you replace the ball joints with ones that are greaseable.

£13,000? plus 7,000 to spend on it? So 20k in total. I suspect you could have found a better deal. From the description it’ll have issues I almost guarantee it. Chassis rots from the inside out so it it needs welding now at that ages I would bet a new chassis isn’t far off. good luck tho...
