    1982, swb brakes

if you do pattern parts use bearmach dont use britpart unless you want to do the job again in 6 weeks, its a shame really because its the only part company for land rovers that is always readliy available. but i never trust them especially after the history ive had on brakes i would always buy...

Defender 110 - Slipping clutch - Tech help?

hi, if you have the standard land rover defender clutch plate and cover, i would consider getting a 130 HD clutch kit, as it should bolt straight in. thee pedal might feel a bit stiffer but i think it will be worth it.

    Series 3 seats

if it was built with no belt it dont need a belt legally :)

Might be a stupid question but....

they shouldnt do, mine had 235s on, and wil have 265s on, and the wheels were about flussh with the wings, i think with the extra 1.5cm on each side of the tyre you should be fine without arch extensions. (mine were also on modulars with a wider than standard offset)

    New headlights - which?

id vote crystal any day, along with the wiring upgrade they can be some bloody good headlights especially compared to the not so impressive standard lights

What have you done to your Landie today.

depends on the model, how much your stripping and what the state of the wiring is. i completely stripped Brian and it was one of the last things to come off. whats needed is the wings need to come off (30 mins max) floor panels and tunnel come out (again 30 mins max) disconnect the steering...

Defender 110 - Slipping clutch - Tech help?

free play in the rod also wont make the clutch slip. the system is pressure to release not pressure to engage. so if there is a fluid pressure build up in the system the thrust bearing would always be pushing on the cover, making the grip less effective, thus slipping. likewise if the pressure...

    Twin turbo

open ewastegate open = turbo bypassed exhaust side, so no you wouldnt want it. depending on the exhaust setup, you might get away with not fully opening the wastegate, so long as the exhaust from the smaller one wont restrict the larger one.

    Series 3 rebuild

i think i will paint them cos im also going for a top notch rebuild.
  15. discomikey

    Twin turbo

i suppose you could make it up so that the big turbo exhausts into the little one, but you would need to make sure that the little turbo has the wastegate set up right, i.e. fully open when big turbo is boosting, otherwise youll restrict the flow and it wont be any better than one turbo. just...

What have you done to your Landie today.

yesterday finished stripping old bulkhead, started to test fit doors and wings etc and adjusted bulkhead to make sure doors and wings were lined up right.
  17. discomikey

    Twin turbo

parallel or in line? both would work. paralells probably easier to make up, but i reckon you would need at least 3" bore exhaust and a decent cooler. the good news is that neither turbo would need to overcook itself. plus you get the added benefit of that extra boost guage. (possibly 3 if you...
