pro comp shocks (are they crap or decent)

as the title really, the only longer shocks i can seem to find for a series are pro comps, and ive heard mixed reviews and id like to know for sure.

    bad vibration since tdi conversion

have a look at the engine mounts, more specifically not the rubbers. on the drivers side it is possible for the bracket on the engine to touch the bracket on the chassis, therefore as the engine moves on the rubber, these 2 brackets rattle against each other giving off a bad vibration.

    Aluminium doors?

it would be just as good an idea to get an all steel door (not sure about the rears but the side doors were definately made all steel on later land rovers) this stops the dissimilar metal corrosion. which is a major contributor to land rover corrosion!

Chassis History, Shot in the dark?

more than likely you have heavy duty springs, as it was a BT works vehicle before. utilities land rovers would have HD springs fitted to cope with the loads they are carrying (i.e. tools and supplies) they were/are also an option for private owners

    Project Arthur

a metro/maestro/mini etc steering wheel wont fit if it is the type of steerign wheel that is held by a pinch bolt. the shaft is a different diameter. a series 3 will fit these wheels however. my series 3 has a black rubber soft metro steering wheel, it sort of suits the series 3, aswell as...

    2.5 N/A into Series 3 109 diesel

i agree again with the amount of shoddy conversions, dont be one ;) but a TDI is probably the best improvement possible to a series. maybe transit engine mounts will be tall enough for the turbo clearance on a 109 i have them on my series 88" and it does sit over an inch higher. and the rubber...
