The Big Debate - Britpart or S**tpart?

1.paddocks didnt give me that option 2.it was a temporary bearing to get me home from college (which i had in stock for about a year), where i would drive to paddocks as i live close and pick up a timken bearing

The Big Debate - Britpart or S**tpart?

not to forget the 3 day old wheelbearing that nearly killed me. wheel +hub almost came off completely. (and yes i know how to do them before you say im a crap mechanic!)

The Big Debate - Britpart or S**tpart?

first off, i did buy britpart. then i realised just how substandard these parts are. doors not fitting, new doortops going rusty very quick. brake and clutch components failing. brake shoes wearing out seemingly instantly, drums being out of round from new, bushes... dont even get me started...

    200tdi Swap...!

tractor and loader: great for removal. very nice and quick. ok for putting back in. i find though a minidigger is better for putting back in as i have worked out a way to rope it up so i have tilt control (can be done with loader tractor) but also i have side to side adjustment without...

    Wtf: Bizarre spottings

how did they get away with that then? on a road car(vehicle) there MUST be a mechanical linkage between the wheels and the steering wheel. hence why no car has hydraulic steering. if it fails it fails and at speed would kill! tractors have fully hydraulic steering but there is a speed limit...

Doing the impossble? Cummins 6BT into a 90!

pictures nicholas! and pressbrake, you said you made your own hose? would you be albe to do a couple for some beer tokens? ive never been happy with my top and bottom water hoses in my series TDI. i want one piece.

    converting to push start

you dont even need that. if its a 200TDI defender you need PRC8230, youll have to doublecheck that it is the right part number because land rover work in strange ways, and might have a different switch, it just unscrews the tiny screwson the side of it then pulls out of the barrel steering...

What have you done to your Landie today.

got some new boots. but now my inner wings rub on them. darn... some adjustment may be necessary.

200tdi before I put it in my Series 3

its not hard no. just for the amount of work to take the wings off, in fact i took them off complete attached to the slam panel so even easier. just means you can get right round the engine and its a lot easier to get at stuff like the starter solenoid etc.
