Freelander 1 Andyfreelandy's get together, North Devon, September 13th

Only 5 weeks away. Having a meeting this week to agree and order some FL goodies. More / different can be obtained after the event if they are a success ! This event is open to all Freelander owners (others might find it dull). I have a list of those who have already said that they are...

    Freelander 1 Aux belt tensioner

Alternator is not difficult, but not a roadside job !! If you have aircon then the compressor needs to be removed and tied out of the way.

    Freelander 1 Aux belt tensioner

Here's your answer https://www.landyzone.co.uk/land-rover/belt-tensioner-urgent-help.392040/page-2 Looks like the 24mm bolt is a reverse thread so pulling it forward should only tighten it, however, remove small pulley underneath and fit spanner to back of tensioner. Some say 13mm, some 15mm...

Unable to bleed brakes (SOLVED) - Custom Brake Thread

Sorry, never even seen one !! As you have no ABS they are a bit special. Unlikely to be faulty but why not crack the pipes and bleed at that point then reconnect and bleed. See if they have an air lock. This whole saga is a mystery.

fuse 41 or 42 for alternator

And why you have 42 fuses ?!?!?
  7. andyfreelandy

fuse 41 or 42 for alternator

I haven't got 40 plus fuses in the fuse box anyway on mine !! 1. Plugging in a fuse when there isn't one is dodgy and could cause a fire. It may have been removed for a reason or is not fitted to your model. 2. Plugging another fuse in still won't tell you whether it is charging or not. Have...

fuse 41 or 42 for alternator

As stated. Test it to see if working before changing anything. 30 second job.
  9. andyfreelandy

fuse 41 or 42 for alternator

Not quite ! Lower readings will show the alternator is not charging for some reason which will need to be traced through to find the reason.

What have you done to your Freelander today

Mine have now bedded in. I believe that short notice hard braking appears to be better. Should have done distance check on an emergency stop before and after the change of discs.

You can also get telecopic free standing step ladders. Not as cool I grant you, but you would be able to move them around the vehicle.
