I have read that some folks have done the refurb without removing the starter. Took mine off ok and used a refurb kit several months ago and been fine since. Roughly where are you in the country in case there's someone close to help.

Hi, I think you'll find it's the SLABs that's involved with the ABS. Have you tried driving it and see if they re-set? If not the usual cause is a faulty wheel bearing causing false readings and setting our friends alight. Where abouts are you in the country? May be someone near with diagnostics...

Hi, I assume it is a manual in which case check the clutch switch. This is designed to smooth the revs out when changing gear. The facelift model has it under the clutch master cylinder, pre facelift is somewhere on o/s wing. HTH, Griff

I havent but plenty of others have used them ok - especially as you're only after the case. Make sure it's for the D2 and not Rover 75 although I believe this is only important if you're after the innards. Griff
