hi guys my p38 diesel loses power and cuts out while driving then its a pain to start but it will sit there for hours on tick over and wont die but if you drive it it dies within a few miles what are the chances of it being a duff fuel pump in the tank or could it be anything else cheers

went to work in my dse today and it lost power then cut then a bit of a pain to start then it got me to work then on the way home it done the same but this time it cut out 7 times and was down on power sometimes it would splutter and if you held your foot down it would pick up but not as it does...

yep its a blend motor what controls the flap inside mines the same and meant to be a pain in the backside to do hence not done mine (2 3/4 years)

in an ideal world they would give every learner a days training on a skid pan before they allowed to take a test as most youngsters never see snow before they pass there test and dont know what to do in any form of skid in the ice

i thought the injectors was the same through out the p38 diesel range and the fuel pump was changed on the later models

yes i can drift a car properly not just a skid out of control but a proper drift under full control just like the d1 boys and in safe situations eg track,and on the fields at my old mans farm no im not a 18 year old boy racer

when i changed the stat,waterpump on mine i cheated and cut a 4 inch chunk out of the bottom of the fan cowling so now all i have to do is take the top hose off and the clips what hold the cowl in place and i can just twist it out with ease and still leave the viscous fan in place

i didnt fancy struggling underneath the vehicle so looked at the grill and thought ah can i do it and turned out very easy

if you undo the screws to the bottom of the grill you can pull it out far enough to get your hand in to feel where the cable goes and if you make up a rod with a hook on the end you can slide it straight to the catch one little tug and its open:D

quick update the cable had snapped and found a quick and easy way to do the bonnet and only takes a few mins and dont even need to go underneath the thing.

at least you will be warm when it catches fire :D:D:D

cant run it battery went flat so that was in the shed on charge so got no chance of that
