Honey guess what I found on e-bay?

As if I don't have enough projects, my defender 110 bulkhead replacement got paused due to winter and home extension delays, my Jag 3.8S full resto got paused to sort the defender, My XKR is running so I am pretending I can't hear the tick from the supercharger.... I purchased a new (for me)...

Sorry for the delay in responding and thanks for all the suggestions. I got diverted as our kitchen is being demolished… Re: the bulkhead, most of the removal work is done, inside is stripped, just got a few hours of removal to go, new one is in the garage all painted and dinitroled. I will...

    What suspension do I have/need

Hi all, probably seems a strange post, but I’m excavating the front of my 110 on a journey to replace the bulkhead and of course the number of parts I’ve identified as needing to replaced on the way is growing… Anyway, the front shocks and springs are pretty rusty and the towers are in poor...

    Hose- air intake to filter

Hi folks my intake hose (part ESR184) is mangled and is probably end of life. The question is, do I have to shell out £60+ for a new one or is it a standard size that can be easily fabricated? Any and all suggestions welcome steve

    Indicator issue

I've been holding off replacing all the indicator and side-lamp units, prioritising other things, but the time is probably here as they are in a state of serious plastic decay

    Indicator issue

So an update. I decided to start with the steering column/binnacle as there was a slight looseness to the indicator/light switch. Took of the shrouds (steering column) checked all the wires Looked behind the binnacle, re-seated the flasher unit (which seemed pretty well seated) and annoyingly...

Fitting Bolt on Bits electric fan

Hmmmm- I’m feeling talked out of the effort- although I still need to fix the sheered bolts

200tdi ‘that’ exhaust to block bracket

Ok, I’ve spent some more time trying to work out the problem and, looking and the bolt hole nearer the front, I suspected that an engine mounting bracket to block bolt would fit, as I had one, I cut it down to size and fettled all the sharp bits off and can get it roughly in place and it...

Fitting Bolt on Bits electric fan

Ahhhhh- now I’m beginning to see. I took the plastic cowl off about 6 years ago when I bought the vehicle, as it was loose and flopping around. looking really closely and with a degree of imagination I think I can see where previous bolts may have sheared….groan! Looks like I need to drill and tap

200tdi ‘that’ exhaust to block bracket

I just looked at Kayfast - that looks to be a good place to use <I keep them in organisers, organised by type and size>. nothing anal about being organised!

200tdi ‘that’ exhaust to block bracket

…and I probably did it all in the wrong order as…. 1. Once the engine was fitted I was reattaching the down pipe and noticed it had a hole at the bend so… 2.ordered a new 200tdi downpipe which didn’t align with the rest of the (unbeknownst to me) tdi system so 3. Ordered the rest of a 200 tdi...

200tdi ‘that’ exhaust to block bracket

I got two bolts, prob M10 and M8 - I will need to check, but assuming I wasn’t being a complete………the M10 was too large for the larger hole and ‘I think/thought’ the other bolt was too small for the other hole. I did subsequently clean the threads with some taps which screwed in relatively...

200tdi ‘that’ exhaust to block bracket

Yes, it seems quite a faff. I found my trolley Jack under the down pipe where it sweeps under allows me to get it back into position, it now no longer has a td exhaust -I’ve fitted a full 200tdi system I think I’ll order a new manifold bracket as well as the old one is …old I will persevere...
