That’s a good engineered solution! Like I say I’m pretty sure the motor in mine isn’t even from a Land Rover, but it fits fine and does the job.
The motor I removed looked a bit like that- was completely seized solid.
It’s all back together now, and I’ve wired the resistor in so it works at...
I bought an entire heater box from EBay along with some dash spares. I dismantled the heater box with a view to moving motor over to mine, only to find it’s been hacked about- don’t think it’s the right motor fitted but it seems to work.
No idea what motor it is but it’s certainly not the same...
Today’s job was to do the heater motor. It had never worked since I had the car and I finally got round to starting it today.
True to form it was a bugger of a job, whole dash had to come out.
Lots of fun!
I’d bought an entire replacement dash including heater box, which was handy as...
I’m in the middle of changing my heater motor- such fun!
When I removed the heater unit the rubber pipe from the valve on the side wasn’t connected to anything. Any ideas where it should go?
Love it. Great to see another one surviving and earning its keep. Actually wish mine had the retro graphics on the side, but think they only put them on 3 doors.
Yeah, ideally someone would be breaking a 200tdi with air con so I could strip all the bits off, also then I’d see how they were originally fitted which would make it easier to fit to mine!
That kit looks good but pricey considering you’d need the compressor and radiator too.
Reckon best option would be to try and find one with air con someone is breaking and strip parts from it probably.
Haha that’s amazing! Wonder if it was bought from same place?!
Just checked and J611MUT is a Landy too, but looks like it didn’t last long- last taxed in 1997.
Well she did a family holiday brilliantly! Laden with 5 people, 2 dogs and loads of holiday kit up to Filey and back without missing a beat.
Got a friendly wave from one or two fellow owners on trip too. Off to classic car show at Thoresby in Nottinghamshire on Monday.

Long shot I know but does anyone have air con kit for a 200tdi disco knocking around?
I’d love to fit it to mine. Know you have to remove dash but my heater motor has gone anyway!
My really early Disco has the tilt-and-remove sunroof. It still leaks!
Does it have drain tubes? Can’t find them when I looked around. Would have thought this was simpler design as only has to seal on top rather than inside roof?
Handbrake adjusted today, but even better fitted original radio, working complete with dash remote buttons! Ace. Need to get a Bluetooth cassette adaptor thing though to listen to music properly...
Cheers. I’m loving driving it now it’s sorted, so comfortable and characterful to drive and the kids think it’s great! Lots of minor things to keep working through now it works- will keep updates coming!
Cheers will give that a try. Yes it’s the early factory fitted twin sunroofs- it’s the bag for them attached to the back seats that’s funny. It wouldn’t be there unless I could remove them I’d have thought.
