I collected my 110 a couple of weeks ago, D300 mild hybrid, got to say it’s fantastic to drive, feels much more planted than the D5 it replaced, that could be due to the adaptive dampers I chose as an option. Also went for the explorer pack and locking rear diff.

I’d say disconnect your battery first

I’d recommend diesel Bob. Had 2 done there , full rebuild a couple of months ago cost £420 including vat

Rear trailing arm bushes can induce wander if worn.

Probably needs a new boost modulator

the cv when broke, gives a gearbox speed sensor fault

I had similar in my D3 when front cv went. It would only move in reverse

Took mine out the garage for a wash after rebuilding it over the last 8 months, turning it fromto this,

Change the tensioner and belt, and test drive it upto temp. Hopefully doesn’t over pressure the cooling system. Likelihood is head warped if driven for long without coolant though.

Have the egr’s mapped out. The fault code will still show in diagnostic tests but won’t trigger limp mode. Earlier D3’s didn’t need the mapping done.

If it’s the older type they usually have a small screw at the rear

I hated the new defender when seeing the pictures leaked during its development through to its launch, but as time gone on it’s grown on me to the point that the Discovery 5 is going and I collect a new 110 towards the end of July.

There’s a valve in the expansion tank cap which are known to fail on td5, a new cap ain’t expensive so worth changing it.

Don’t know if relevant but D3 has similar issues when torque converter is failing.
