I've just removed my front springs to fit HD spring retainers and turret rings. After refitting the front springs are not properly seated, the picture below should give an indication of what I mean. Anyone got an idea what I've done wrongly during re-assembly? Ben

You can get the locking pins on eBay for £15-20. Have a go at it yourself, lots of guides around the place including this forum.

Get underneath and have a look at the t/box, the ratio will be stamped on it. The Defender ones are 1.4 or 1.6 I think, Discovery is commonly 1.2.

I've never understood the inner workings of a portal axle, but it looks as though the differential housing is above the centre of the wheel hubs?! Could just be an optical illusion.

Looking good, are those flatdog 3" arches?

Could be one of the following: car is due a service, low tyre pressures, brake(s) binding, other misc drivetrain problems.

If you forget to reconnect them before turning the engine back on it will **** out, so don't do that :) Ben

Sounds like an electrical fault with the sender and/or gauge itself.
