    P38A Disco 2 hubs on a P38

Wrong number of pulses would make the speedo wrong, plus front & rear wheel mismatch. ABS fault implies the sensor cannot see the reluctor. Definitely. Supplier might have swapped them for P38 version if they were unused, but probably not now. My guess is the sleeve on the P38 one is...

    EAS rear suspension dropping

Check the connector underneath the valve block. The connector body may appear tight, but the socket contacts open up slightly over time due to heat & cold cycles in the engine bay. Intermittent connections will cause "valve stuck" faults when there's nothing wrong with the valves. Sensor...

    P38A Tuning the 4.0 thor

Just to add to this, if the engine is on 122000 do the basics before anything like ECU mods, i.e. Replace main & big end bearings, piston rings, etc. Clean up & relap the valves. Look at a mild tune cam (which should not require ECU mods). Also check & replace the hydraulic lifters...

Cannot reset air suspension or abs

Cannot reset air suspension or abs

Most cars use signals from ABS for the speedo.

Freelander 1 TD4 Fuel Rail Sensor Resistance

Does anyone know what resistance I should get across the rail sensor terminals ? Our old sensor measures about 130Kohm across the two outer terminals. The new replacement we got from eBay measures >> 3Mohm which seems wrong. I still get 20,000kpa to 90,000kpa on diagnostics, but cannot...

roughness in cylinder 1 P38 thor engine but no fault code??!!!, diagnostic screenshot..

You have already changed plugs & leads, but try the coils flip anyway. Then clean get a DIY injector cleaning kit & clean the injectors. It's quite easy & that way you will know if one is bad. If you had a location (town name) someone might be nearby - new members never seem to add...

What did you do with your Range Rover today

Fired up the green P38 for the first time in several weeks. EAS went straight up to correct height. Loaded up some garage rubbish, cardboard, an old freezer & load of empty beer cans, and off to local household waste centre. What bugs me is the dump regularly changes the skip order, so it's...

roughness in cylinder 1 P38 thor engine but no fault code??!!!, diagnostic screenshot..

It needs old fashioned engine basics rather the repeated diagnostics, i.e. Clean or better still replace spark plugs Test injector spray pattern & clean them. It's easy DIY using a kit like this https://ebay.us/m/cNgk6I Compression check all cylinders (with spark plugs removed) Fuel rail...

L322 pulling my hair out! (Not much left)

According to Mark_C on rr.net L322 section, all the immobiliser does is prevent the key turning & starter engaging. If that's true then sort the fuelling first !! https://www.rangerovers.net/posts/2209790/ But other threads say it stops cranking as well ?? BTW the P1602 code is a...

L322 pulling my hair out! (Not much left)

They probably make more money doing immobiliser stuff than fuel regulators & pumps !! Fuel pressure codes are just a clue something is wrong. The diagnostic should also show the actual pressure values.

    VCU Torque test results

Yes I thought it seemed a little tight. I did read somewhere that after sitting for a while, they need at least one full revolution to distribute the fluid before testing. This one has sat on the bench in my garage for at least 6 months. It would be interesting to do the same test on...

    VCU Torque test results

After fitting new VCU bearings & replacing the propshaft UJ's did a bench test on the VCU today. Didn't have correct length bar & weight available, so used what was in the garage. Distance from VCU shaft to weight is 80cm, and weight is 6kg. Here's a 1min video of my quick test. Is this...

Help with a Freelander 1 Diesel

If it's been on diagnostics, what's the fuel pressure rail sensor showing at higher speed ? Def worth doing the high pressure pump regulator seals - easy & cheap to do. Sounds like your friend needs to go to a garage that will do the leak-off, check all sensors, check turbo pipes for leaks...

    Freelander 1 New-to-me FL1 TD4 2006 - smoke on startup and doesn't get up to temp

You could de-pin the connector & solder a new wire between the contact & loom wire. Otherwise just replace the connector. That part of the loom usually has enough slack to reach.
