Check where any wires pass through the bulk head if possible get someone with a hose to spray areas especially around where panels meet like the old freeland1 had the problem with the fish tank in the boot

have you got it open yet if not I can tell you a way of getting in.

what engine is it

if you going round a right hand bend and you get the knock it will be the left hand one and vice versa

if it has had a skimmed head put on or at least the original head skimmed and the later gasket on all will be good. probably the owner of the car could not afford the bill like my friend did the garage sold it kept the money for the job and gave him the rest.
