    i think the bolts were loose because the person i bought it off thought he was a brilliant mechanic but looking around his "garage" i did see hammers chisels and 2 broken vise grips. so i think he didnt torque down tight enough or used the same bolts again. the head was ok to be skimmed the man...

    im assuming the head is ok as it was pressure tested, eventhough i did have one pressure tested about 3 yrs ago and it turned out to be cracked after i was told all was good

    the gaskett coming off and new one going on are both 3 hole gasketts. i would love to know what muppet torqued the head down, or did he use the same bolts twice

    the gaskett was a 3 hole gaskett the pistons are seriously protruding i had it checked by a bmw specalist who said he never witnessed such protrusion. when removing the head i did notice that 4 of the headbolts were loose. also piston one at tdc when i rock it with my hand it is slapping off...

    i have a psi powerbox which i find very good , i did buy it secondhand a new one is about 450 euro. it gives a much better gearchange on an auto and a good lift in power

    took the head off the auto this evening will take it to be skimmed tomorrow, some of the head bolts were loose. also somebody put the stator plate on wrong so i cant pin the crankshaft to time the engine so tomorrow its engine out to sort that.

    i have an abs fault coming on the dash and the speedo is getting fits of telling me im only doing 30mph and the abs is kicking when i press the brake pedal.....im thinking wheel speed sensors but im not totally sure

    the one thing a powerbox will do to an auto is give a sharper gear change and a much better ride, but i have been told that u would want to be ordering a new gearbox when chip or fit a power unit.

    fixed tha back axle yesterday today coil springs are being thrown off and air springs back on
