    Turbo Vent Filter Missing?

They all leak oil out of the engine cover screw hole when running if the screw is not in. As for the turbo vent filter, check that you have three pipes coming out of the turbo vent solenoid, and follow the pipe till you find the filter as some times they do fall down the back of the engine. If...

rigid pipe between MAF housing and engine

With the MAf disconnected it normally puts the ecu into a default mode. it could be a issue with other sensors which when you disconnect the MAF just bypasses the other sensors. It can be a real pig to find the error, running live data may help.

Trip counter reset in cold weather?

Battery on its way out, I know you will say it starts fine, do the lights start dim and then brighten up another sign. it will be resetting the trip as you crank the starter. have seen battery to go on for a while but would look at replacing.

FL 1 Tailgate glass dropping by itself.

As far as I can remember the Micro switch is just a open and shut condition, if the gap is too big then when you go over a bump it can actuate the window. The switch can be faulty also, if yours is a 3 door hard back than that's where I would look at first. If you don't solve the issue then I...

FL 1 Tailgate glass dropping by itself.

Is it a 3 door hard back as the roof micro switch can cause issues, also a poor battery connection can also cause issues, as if the power drops off the window will drop. There was also this from L/R but its not exactly your problem Bulletin N o : 0069 Freelander CDS. ref: L8652bu Issue...

Turbo vent filter actually missing (really missing)

From your picture what you have got fitted is the ERG solenoid, the black box on the side is the filter. There was a small issue going back a couple of years when L/R had a small batch of ERG solenoids that they labelled as turbo solenoids. I think the solenoids are the same in operation but...

    another rear door handle off

I did a repair on one, by getting some long bolts and cut heads off. Remove the rubber seal, latch and light you can then drill through the plastic where the old studs were, once you have drilled through fit some nut to the threads had to grind the one of the nuts to allow the thread to sit...

    HDC Wiring - Missing!

Have you pulled the gear stick gator up and had a good look around as its a fairly common problem for the wires to break and they at times drop down and can be hidden out of sight. If there is a plug attached to the switch then if you take it off and solder 2 wires to it, all you then need to...

    blown turbo

You do need to find out what caused the turbo to fail in the first place (blocked crankcase filter a main cause) and make sure you clean out the intercooler and pipe work as well, one more thing to be aware of, if it let go big time than it a good chance it will have blocked the Cat as well

    Master Clutch Cylinder Td4

If you have bleed the system and got all the air out, it can be a bit of a pain. Then it has to be a problem with the slave/thrust bearing or clutch plate either way it does sound like it will be a gearbox out and full clutch replacement.

    Where is the.....

Ok, standing in front looking at the engine, if you put your right hand on the bolt hole that you have removed, lift your hand up going clockwise around the bell housing, when you get to about 180 deg you will find a bolt head 13mm, it unscrews towards the nearside wing as the thread is in the...

    Where is the.....

Ok, if you think you have got the back bolt out then have you given the starter a tap as they can be tight in the housing. there are only the two bolts the long one that has the earth strap on, and the back one that bolts into the starter. The bolts are aprox 180 deg opposite each other

    Td4 2004

Fitted one from www.jandrcvjoints.co.uk been on for 12 months with no issues. The only problem was the hub nut, it had a bigger flats than the original and whilst the thread was correct you could not get a socket through the hole in wheel to tighten. Was only a couple of pounds for a correct...

    wobble but not wheel wobble

Would also look at the front tripod joint on the front prop as have seen a worn one cause this kind of issue. One easy way to eliminate the prop shafts and drive train issues would be to remove them and see what happens.

    freelander TD4 starting issue

Would put my money on a injector leaking back, do a search on how to test. One way to test, ( I know some will frown on this) is to spray a little easy start into air intake, if it fires and then runs most likely a leaking injector.

    Bugger!!!!

Not seen it myself but somewhere in the back of my mind, there is a notion that some one once had a similar problem and it turned out to be the glowplug relay that stuck open causing the glowplug wiring to burn out. Could it have been burnt from outside or is it defiantly an internal fire that...
