Disco 2 td5 rear fuel pipes leaking - change without dropping tank?

Yup...Was a recall, first thing I did was to ring main stealer and ask if mine was outstanding, but no such luck. As it happens, the pipe arrived about an hour ago and it took me all of about 10 minutes to refit using the wire I'd pulled thru as I'd removed the old one. So all in all took me...

Disco 2 td5 rear fuel pipes leaking - change without dropping tank?

Ooh, last 2 replies correct for me too, but a day late! Yup, was actually fairly easy to get carpet up and green pipe out. I slackened of the rear of the tank support to give me a little more access and got the green pipe off (with guide wire attached) inside of 10 mins.. pin hole in it as you...

Disco 2 td5 rear fuel pipes leaking - change without dropping tank?

Great advice to get me started chaps.. Much appreciated! Think the plan then is to spend an hour trying to free pipes from clips and if I can then have a go at pulling them through with a guide wire attached. If it doesn't go to plan, I'll drain the tank via the removed fuel pump or the filler...

Disco 2 td5 rear fuel pipes leaking - change without dropping tank?

Might be worth giving that an hour before I give in and drain the tank! If I can get it loose from the clips then, does that mean the clips are open ended and I can just remove the green one? Thanks

Disco 2 td5 rear fuel pipes leaking - change without dropping tank?

Hi, thanks for the replies so far.. I've already accessed the top of the pump so I can disconnect the pipes either end. It's really the question of whether you can remove the pipe clips from the cross member without dropping the tank which is the crux of the issue. I know some people say it...

Disco 2 td5 rear fuel pipes leaking - change without dropping tank?

Hi all, coming back from a round of golf a couple of days ago to find a trail of diesel behind my disco and a puddle underneath. Doesn't leak when engine not running, but when it is, I'm getting a steady stream from rear of the tank, flowing down through the frame rail.. 5 mins of online...

We'll see.. The missus has it and they're not through the safari yet, so the list may grow. Last time they had the parking sensors too!

    Disco 2 Washer jets

Hi all.. Monkeys at longleat have destroyed my washer jets! Looked at the genuine part DNJ500090, which run at £20+ each..but noticed that the freelander 2 jets LR048709 and the discovery 3/4 jets LR049290 all look identical in pictures but are only around a fiver?! Anyone know if the sizes etc...

Automotive wiring and colour blindness don't mix!

Hi all, my latest little project on my D2 is retrofitting Powerfold mirrors.. bought a used set of mirrors, ECU and the switch only to find my car doesn't have the loom. With some help from this forum, I've managed to make my own and plumb it all in, bit fiddly actually making the plug for the...

Disco 2 powerfold mirror upgrade - wiring help?

Thanks for this sierrafery.. You've helped me out loads in the past and always pointed me in the right direction. As I say, I have the ecu but not the loom/plug yet and don't want to buy all the bits or build it until I know the motor works.. I'm starting to wonder if the 2pin plug are both...

Disco 2 powerfold mirror upgrade - wiring help?

Hi all, Thought I'd treat myself to used set of powerfold mirrors as I do fold the mirrors in quite often. I didn't look into it properly before I bought some off of fleabay.. but came to find my Serengeti doesn't have the powerfold loom! There's plenty between Rave and this forum about to...

Disco 2 Retrofit Powerfold Mirrors - activate from central locking?

Just done a search on the freelander section and there are loads in there.. Thanks for the pointer! At first glance they seem to be mostly about adding the central locking folding function to existing installs, rather than wiring it up independently.. But hopefully there's some wiring diagrams...

Disco 2 Retrofit Powerfold Mirrors - activate from central locking?

Hi all, Just bought a set of powerfold mirrors, with the module and switch.. I had a brief search around forums beforehand and generally it looked like a straight forward swap. I'm expecting delivery today or tomorrow, so thought I'd just have a quick look behind the glovebox for the plug to...

    Disco 2 TD5 rough above 3000rpm

If ECU plug OK, might be worth changing the fuel filter?.. personally a fan of trying the simple / cheap things first.. Just sounds like it could be struggling when it's demanding a bit more fuel at higher revs?

Disco 2 Window regulator / motor

Thanks for that, I'll take a look.. Could probably just pour some epoxy over the existing one if all else fails. Was a challenge to get out, disconnected the motor and regulator , then the a-frame with the window and just managed to lift high enough to undo the bolts holding the channel to the...
