if you take the door card off there is a gap at the bottom front of the door - you can see it more clearly on a bright day - presumably to let the water out i have seen a water ingress manual somewhere online - i'll see if i can find it

i don't think the water comes in through the doors - it's more likely the window seal or the vents - mine does the same

if you look at a new defender you can see that it evolved from the series 1 they were outlawed in the states to protect the home market the same thing is now happening in europe due to BS from the H&S lobby now is a good time to buy one - prices will rise when new ones are no longer available
