My first Land Rover - tow car!

I spent months tracing the leak before I found out it was the windscreen because I couldn't believe both sunroofs were leak-fee (and still are :) ). Take off the trim panel in the passenger footwell and look for signs of water running down the inside where the bonnet pull is. I stuffed some...

My first Land Rover - tow car!

Very tidy looking Disco there :) Lift the jack and the wheel chock out and you'll find the cruise control unit under there. Nice big hole to get your hand in and you should be able to feel where the pipe fits on top as it'll be difficult to see. My sound deadening took 2 full weeks to dry but...

    Springs

Turrets will probably be ok but well worth getting a pair of turret rings for the front. Rear spring seats can be a bit crusty as well and are cheap to change, get a kit with new bolts etc. Dropping the ARBs helps when changing springs so have a look at the bushes/drop links etc as well. I...

Which spring and shocks for 2"lift?

Stu, did you have your 265/70s on your standard alloys with just your +1" springs ? I've got +1" springs on already but not yet fitted my 1" spacers under the spring seats. I'm still deciding between 265/70s and 235/85s and thinking I might be able to get away without the spacers.

Which spring and shocks for 2"lift?

Terrafirma +2 shocks on mine as well but just running with RRC Police spec HD springs so only around a 1" lift. Also just fitted a southdown snorkel to my 300tdi with ABS. Excellent quality, perfect fit and I think it was only £140 on ebay. Highly recommended.

Possibly an odd suspension combination? +1" and HD!

Fitted HD police spec RRC springs all round which raised mine around an inch, probably due to the originals being very tired. Fitted +2" dampers at the same time (came with the springs) but I still have ARBs so not really seeing the benefit other than the old dampers being completely knackered...

Is it the turbo or air flow meter???????

intercooler is definately worth a look. I left mine to soak full of petrol overnight, just make sure it's bone dry before it goes back in.

Is it the turbo or air flow meter???????

Driving out with no gaffer tape.... pretty sure that's breaks several Landy Laws! :o Hope that's your problem sorted though.

Is it the turbo or air flow meter???????

more likely to be a sticking EGR valve. quick and easy to fix with a blanking plate off ebay. first thing I need to do to my 300 auto. black smoke and loss of power.

Coil spring isolator rings and spring compressors?

You'll find it much easier with a pair of compressors. I've used mine dozens of times over the years and never had them slip, just try to keep the load equal on each compressor to stop the spring from twisting. I was hoping to do the front shocks and springs without removing the turrets but...

Coil spring isolator rings and spring compressors?

did you drop the rear ARB ? makes life much easier. I've just put heavy duty +1" all round and used spring compressors. You might be able to get away without them but they really do help.

    LR Parts Snorkel Warning

Glad I went for Southdown then!! Took me less then 2 hours to fit, including 3 coffee breaks! Hoping to have the Tiger Seal removed from my arms before Easter. Hope you manage to get yours finished OK.

tow bar mounted cycle rack anyone got one ?

I've got a Thule carrier (model 9403 I think) for mine which aren't the cheapest but easily carries 3 bikes without the spare wheel getting in the way. Only takes around 30 seconds to add/remove as well and fits perfectly in the Disco boot as I always remove it along with the removable tow...

    Swivels??

Did you replace with a chrome or teflon swivel ? I'm looking to do both of mine shortly and not sure which to go for.

    CB antenna

I have the same springer on mine and never had an issue while laning. Mines on a gutter mount by the 'B' pillar but will be moving to the light bar as soon as it's fitted. Nothing to stop you swapping to a mini springer when you're laning as you don't need any range if you're just talking to...

    Egr blank kit 300tdi

If you have a Jap Import, as I do, then the EGR is water cooled so in addition the parts mention above you have the pleasure of replacing/rerouting a couple of water hoses. I've left mine blanked for now but plan to remove it completely soon. This could be true for all EDC/Auto Discos rather...

    Uder carpet rubber

I'm getting the wifes old ones when her horse moves stables so mine are free!! I think there's a range of mats with varying quality but you're not putting a horse on it so cheap matting should be OK. I'll let you know how second hand horse mats smell as soon as they're fitted!

    Uder carpet rubber

I'll be replacing mine with stable mats very soon. About the same thickness as the standard foam but won't hold any water. I'm hoping to use the existing stuff as a template.

    New headlights - opinions please

It does look like the angle of the light will follow your bumper but the issue could be the angle with the bonnet. Not easy for you to do a qiuck test fit as it looks like your bumper needs to come off. And once the bumper is off you might as well just fit them!!

    New headlights - opinions please

Taking your "light fetish" into account, I assume you'll be fitting these in addition to the existing ones. Under the bumper perhaps !!!! Where's your third battery going to go ????
