Engine Cutting, and vacuum in Turbo - help...

if yours has just started sticking then you might be able to fix in situ. Don't leave it as long as me :)

Engine Cutting, and vacuum in Turbo - help...

I can only just reach it with my fingers but no way of getting a good grip even with pliers. I'm resigned to taking the turbo off and attacking it on the bench. Lube and a good wiggle should get it moving but I still don't understand how mine siezed as I've always been a little heavy footed so...

Engine Cutting, and vacuum in Turbo - help...

Could your wastegate be stuck shut ? I have EDC auto with a stuck wastgate and the ECU cuts the fuel under heavy load. Most noticable going up steep hills at around 3000rpm. It's been on my fix list for over a year and it's about time I fixed it but on the 300tdi it's hard to reach so it's a...

My first Land Rover - tow car!

Couldn't persuade the multiplug to come off but I managed to side it over to get some pics.

    auto oil cooler, under pressure?

My temp repair has been on for nearly 2 years, you've just reminded me it needs fixing properly. Jubilee clips holding mine together as I had to cut out the pressed joint between the metal and rubber pipes.

    Sluggish disco.........not any more!

It can be done and some on here have done it, normally when there are problems with the edc setup. Not sure exactly how much work is involved though. The edc cars produce more power to start with though so if you revert to non-edc and the tweak the pump you may only end up back where to...

    scuttle panel removal

I think there's a small 6mm bolt for the end pieces and the middle is one piece that lifts off once the wipers are removed. Mine was tricky to get back on under the windscreen trip with one pair of hands but not too bad.

    what springs problem

I think they are more for performance cars, they are supposed to offer a softer ride under normal conditions but the harder you push them the harder they work. Never used them so I don't know if it's true. Have a look on ebay at "coil spring assistors", they may stop some of the compression...

    what springs problem

They sound like progressive springs with tighter coils at one end.

    Replacement exhaust

Both boxes are about the same size so the results would be similar. Hopefully someone with experience of both setups can answer more accurately. There are dozens of threads about removing/deleting the EGR valve. All you need to know is that if yours is still fitted then it's your next job :)...

    Replacement exhaust

    1) If the backbox is solid enough to bolt back on then it'll be fine. When it's ready for replacing it will automatically corrode and eject itself from the car. I still have no idea when or where mine fell off! 2) Cleaning the inside of your exhaust could be classed as OCD :) 3) Stainless...

    what springs problem

How much lower is the back ? If your rear springs are ok why not fit spacers under the rear spring seats so she sits level ? HD springs only really do their job properly when the rear is fully loaded. Spacers are cheap enough on ebay and in various thicknesses.

My first Land Rover - tow car!

So that's what it looks like !! I think you're right and it's the black connector with the other pipe attached. If you have plenty of vacuum hose could you extend it into the cabin so you can test for vacuum when driving. Safer for your passenger to check while you're driving obviously :)

My first Land Rover - tow car!

The light on the button is all you get I'm afraid, nothing on the dash. The unit on mine is a bit loose so I'll try to slide it across to get a photo, at least you'll have a clue what you can feel on the unit. My vacuum pipes are bright blue as well so they are easy to see :) When mine had a...

    Brake lights, only one works

bulb might look ok but still be knackered. swop the n/s and o/s brake bulbs over and see what happens.

My first Land Rover - tow car!

I'm sure daze will find the info handy :) I think the gutter under the windscreen is double skinned so there is a void underneath and it's lowest points are the sides of the car. You can see the shape of it if you can fit your head up the footwell and see past the ECUs. My thoughts are that...

This is where mine was leaking I put sealant under the rubber as well as along the joint with the glass.

My first Land Rover - tow car!

Sounds like you're having as much fun as I did! I poured water from the top - no leak, then from half way down the screen - no leak, then from the bottom corner and it leaked! I couldn't understand it at all as all the water was heading in the same direction. My leak was actually in the...

    disco lift

As said, there's loads of info on this subject if you do a search. 2" is pretty much the limit without changing anything else but if you're removing your ARBs then check your flexible brake hoses on full drop as you may need to extend these.
