    You have to smile.

Extract from workshp manual "The electric seat operation is controlled by the BeCM via the seat outstations. The BeCM receives input information from the outstations for the selected functions. It then outputs the appropriate command signals, via the serial data bus, to the applicable...

P38 L/h Front Window Cant Set

In the owners manual it says 1. FULLY open and close each window in one continuous operation (note that as the window is closing, an audible warning sounds and ’WINDOW NOT SET’ is displayed in the message centre). 2. Once the window has been fully opened and closed, an audible warning...

    Insurance

I got a quote from tesco. £470 fully comp for a 1998 4.6. I'm 40 years old full NCB + 3 points for speeding (nearly spent) no claims in last 5 years

    Fog Lights

I thought the idea of front fog lights (on any car) was to be able to use them without headlights at all, so in really heavy fog you can see the kerb but are not blinded by the reflected dipped lights.

    Colour coding confusion.

    Thanks. I never noticed that.

    colour coded front grill

I noticed that when I read your thread about your 6 hours work. I think it looks nice with black bumpers. Not sure if it would be too much with red bumpers too.

    Colour coding confusion.

Well it is on the bumpers too, but I am sure I have seen colour coded bumpers but with different mirrors. Here is a pic I posted in another thread for another reason. Following is a pic taken from the gallery here. Same coloured bumpers but black mirror brackets things.

So it probably never left the factory like that then?

    Colour coding confusion.

I do not have a RR yet. Only a few more days to go YAY. On the one I am getting the mirrors are the same colour as the rest of the body work (red) and the mirror mounts are also red. All other RRs I have seen with colour coded mirrors they still have black mounting bracket things. Why would...

    P38 Swapping front seats over?

Thanks but the zero cost option of swapping them is more appealing. I wouldn't mind spending a day doing it.

    P38 Swapping front seats over?

Hi, I was just wondering if the front seats are basically the same between the two sides (on a 1998 model)? I know the switches would be on the wrong side if they were just swapped, but is it possible strip that part off and refit to the other seat? I'm sure all the motors would be the same...

Buying a RR but confused about equipment levels.

Hmm. I am confused now. I had a look on autotrader at other "Vogues". As you say none have the 4.6 on and they have a chrome button for the tailgate. Although some 'Vogue SE' have a black button. The "VOGUE" badge on these cars seem to be all over the place. I would have thought Land Rover would...

Buying a RR but confused about equipment levels.

Thanks for the offer, but my friend's father in-law is a member of a 4x4 club and is an "expert" (Heard that before). He's owned a couple of P38s and I am going again tomorrow with him. I will have a look at the V5 and see what that says. Nothing too enlightening on the back. Just Vogue. It...

Buying a RR but confused about equipment levels.

I've just been to see it this morning, but I never thought to look for any markings under the bonnet. According to the Tesco insurance website, if I put in the REG it shows as "RANGE ROVER VOGUE 4.6 (98-98) SE AUTO 4552cc 5DR" Parkers mentions a "30th Anniversary Limited Edition" If this RR...

Buying a RR but confused about equipment levels.

Thank you. I had already been on Parker's and seen two of those links but the first one I had not seen before and it looks interesting. I don't quite understand how a VOGUE SE compares to a VOGUE LIMITED EDITION though. I guess a lot of things are options anyway so there is no way of knowing...

Buying a RR but confused about equipment levels.

Hi I am hoping to be purchasing a Range Rover shortly but I am confused about how the different models line up. A 1998 vehicle seems to fit my price range and I am after a 4.6litre Petrol. Am I right in thinking that the SE is the lowest, then comes the HSE then the VOGUE? The one I am...
