I've got some rust on inner wing. Surprise surprise. It's near the back/bulkhead. The flange that the inner wing welds to on the bulkhead has a small piece rusted off it and the corner around there on the bulkhead looks suspicious. It is patchable but I suspect I would just be patching again...

I've got the terra firma setup all round and no complaints, they seem to work well. Although the ride isn't massively compliant when empty. Fitting, just basic hand tools, sockets spanners jacks and axle stands. Preferably a torque wrench.

Going to put some heavy duty sills on. People who have done it before, I see folk have used 120x60 rhs. What size tubing? I can get 1 1/4 welded galv tube and some 90deg bends right easily. Does the tubing clear the doors ok using 120 section if it's just butted against it? I was thinking of...

I can only think that some anal bugger would say they are a repair section and should be welded all round. Although I reckon any MOT tester in the land looking at a proper bit of steel that goes "dong" when wallopped will be quite happy. They see enough discos with no metal there at all.

Can you take the plunger out of the solenoid to try it? You say the pump is making the right noises, do you get a buzzing from the quantity solenoid doing it's thing when the ignition is on? If you open the filter bleed when cranking, is it pulsing fuel out? If you crack an injector line, is...

I am surprised the temp got up halfway with no stat fitted. I would be wondering if the rad was blocked.

Don't think my alarm sounder has ever been connected, never given a problem. That's on a 300tdi edc model

Drill and tap it out a bigger size and make a plug on a lathe, depends how much meat there is to work with.

I'd take someone for a ride in the boot! My rear door never made any noise when it was knackered because it was sat right down on the back beam. Might not be the door though, bushings can creak on the suspension and I've seen one that did it when the rear body mounts were rotten

Very quiet round here, there are two guys in Keighley on base stations chattering away constantly on 19. Someone else in a desert coloured disco the other week, that's about it. Then again I don't think I get a right lot of range with a 1.2m ish antenna on a mag mount.

Bump! Seems to vary from starting first twitch of the key to needed 3 or 4 attempts.

Pulled top and right (leaking side) trims off, big gap in the sealant on the right. No surprises that was leaking. Filled the gap with PU adhesive/sealant. Pulling the top trim off pulled a massive bead of sikaflex or something out with it, I think someone has just gone mental filling the gap...

Hey up. 98 300tdi. Getting very wet. If you pull the driver side A pillar plastic off you can see water dripping. I believe it's coming from the windscreen seal. Is it possible to pull the outer windscreen trims off to get to it to re seal it?

Sounds like it's pulling air in somewhere which is letting it drain fuel back. Pump front seal? Any fuel dribbles in the timing case? Banjo washers all good on fuel filter housing?
