I use a compressor, schutz gun and loads of waxoil including extension lance for inside the chassis. Messy but worth it, MOT tester comments on how good it is underneath compared to others they test. My ancient 2nd hand compressor is dying though so gonna have to bite the bullet and buy a new one.

I too tow a caravan and the only off roading I do is on grass pitches, I have had my disco 2 for 8 1/2 years and 100000 miles now. I have the same problem on my passenger side window, I have replaced 3 motors already and the regulator once, just keeps blowing them for some reason. Now it just stays broken - although as going to France this summer will have t give it another one for the motorway toll booths :rolleyes:

I bought a Pendle version for my Disco which has a mounting plate which bolts behind the standard tow ball supposedly being able to carry bikes and still tow, used it once - doesnt provide enough clearance for towing my caravan, bikes hitting jockey wheel when turning and damaged spare wheel...

400 miles a week at 30 MPG if youre lucky from a D2 is about £70 per week on fuel alone at the current prices :eek: Id be looking at a cheaper alternative.

Prices and quality will vary, my brother paid £3k to prep and paint his Riley Elf (mini with boot) and it is stunning even 5+ years later.
