Hi biglad as it happens i spoke to mike today as i have three jobs for him,the situation is that i have a later ecu but it is reconfigured in the remap process to accept the existing sensors so no need to change if working o.k. Engineer:):)

Mine has been changed to the later flashable unit complete with remap by mike of dynachip (highly recommended). Engineer:):)

I have been reading this thread with much interest as i have this exact senario 2000 td5 later programmable ecm, i have sourced a 4 pin sensor have yet to get a 4 pin plug but what axactly is the wiring sequence to the red plug i.e. which pin to which number on the plug any help in this matter...

Should it turn put to be the turbo give essex turbos a ring they will send you a new one plus all instructions plus packaging to send back your old one,they supprisingly dont take a deposit on the old one and the last one i purchased was £285 posted all be it some while back. Engineer:):)

There is a second option if the out of level is not to large,simply cut out a small section of rod that connects to the axle,then you will need a drilled piece of bar to accomodate the cut rod with a grub screw in both ends,then you can finely adjust the ride height by moving the plastic lever...

Sorry but i disagree,land rover made it for a purpose, keeping water and particularly salt laden grit in winter out of the engine bay,also helps the air flow around the exhaust etc. improving cooling just my take you understand. Engineer:):)

My advise for what it is worth is to wait for a nice dry spell so the chassis is nice and moisture free get it over the pit and brush of the loose dirt and flacky rust dont worry about getting it squeaky clean them coat the chassis brake line ace pipes etc. with external gear and wire rope...

The little qwarky rumble as you depress the clutch pedal does seem quite prevalent on start up and for some reason after new clutch fitment i have no idea why but never seems to cause a problem and most settle down after a while Engineer:):)

What would be the symptons of a faulty sensor the one that is in the bellhousing and presumably reads the engine speed and position td5 by the way thanks for any help Engineer:):)

Yes all changed,it only does it on cold mornings and only for a couple of minutes i wondered if the dual mass flywheel which is filled with grease is a bit stiff to start with. Engineer:):)

My disco has had a new clutch including flywheel on the odd cold morning we have had the engine pulses are transmitted into the cabin very clearly when slipping the clutch to move off after about two minutes this dissapears clutch works fine good pedal etc. any thoughts Engineer:):)
