Suggest you supply the correct fluid to whoever does it. If you look at the pics of what rubbish others have drained its obvious the wrong fluid has been used at sometime. Unfortunately at 60k the right original fluid is often replaced with the wrong by people who don't know the difference...

Visit a factory with a large conveyor system, the sealed for life gearboxes tthat drive it will have drain plugs. Because a unit has a drain plug does not mean you have got to drain it. Define the time period you mean by 'ever'.

Aisin Warner - Similar to Jatco - only half drains out. With regard the sealed for life aspect (which I support) the only people who have the answer is Jatco.

My TD4 is 2004 model year, it was registered in Dec 2003.

New model years are not kept in showrooms until Jan 1st. Often out in Sept.

Possibly the main sight you see in Germany will be the inside of a garage. Take plenty of cash, repairs are expensive there. 85/90 is quick enough for continuous running of a TD4 unless you want to bust it.

Hello Hippo. If you do the partial fluid change would you please carefully compare the fluid you take out with the new fluid and advise the number of miles covered. (Colour and smell) I am not entirely convinced of the need to change at 60k miles and info from you would be interesting. Thank you.
