Disco 2 Fault code reading machine for TD5 and V8 ?

From what I can gather the Hawkeye (Classic?, Total?, Pro?) is made in the UK, so that swings it for me. Yes, it could cost over £300....but would it then be useful on my Vauxhall Combo van? I also see Hawkeye are selling 5080 modules for about £50 on Amazon, and appear to claim that's all...

Disco 2 2001 Disco TD5(manual). ABS, ETC, descent, and brake lamps ON

Update, it seems I was misled by the operator (owner) initially. He failed to report that all 4 of the warning lamps are illuminated, and the table on page 70-23 seems to suggest 9 possibles out of the 11 listed faults...geez, with 4 lamps surely LR could have improved their diagnostic...

Disco 2 Fault code reading machine for TD5 and V8 ?

Accepted, now I'm after the experience of those who have one (or preferrably more) of these so I can make an informed decision on which is best for my needs. For instance, I see ads for 'XYZ code reader - with leads and unlock key for ABC' ...does that mean I'll be shelling out extra for the...

Disco 2 Fault code reading machine for TD5 and V8 ?

Accepted, and quite prepared to buy a second-hand machine, so what is available, what are their pros and cons, and what should I expect to pay? On a side note, do all models (let's say 1999 to present day) use the same OBD type connector? MM

Disco 2 2001 Disco TD5(manual). ABS, ETC, descent, and brake lamps ON

Thank you again @sierrafery It seems I do have RAVE, because I was looking at the very same page at 3am this morning! It was reported tome that the ABS lamp came on whilst driving, not sure of the exact circumstances but I will get access to this Disco today to clarify. If I understand it...

Disco 2 Please educate me on Disco 2 air suspension

...not forgetting to have him support the chassis first, in case he disconnects the wrong pipe and exhausts all the air from the bags!

Disco 2 Please educate me on Disco 2 air suspension

Thank you @sierrafery I managed to obtain a pdf copy of a manual which seems quite comprehensive, if that's RAVE then hallelieuja. Looking at a copy of theSelf Levelling System (SLS - still getting used to those pesky mnemonics) I am ready to advise V8 friend to find and block off the pipe...

Disco 2 Fault code reading machine for TD5 and V8 ?

Dear learned Landy Folk, I'm looking to help out family and friends with maintenance of their Discos. I have ordered a cheap Haynes manual from Ebay so I can gen-up on the TD5, but it seems blatantly obvious that to do any proper diagnostics I'll need some kind of DTC reader. Two cars in my...

Disco 2 2001 Disco TD5(manual). ABS, ETC, descent, and brake lamps ON

Please may I have some advice regarding the activation of the ABS warning lamp, in particular what circumstances cause the lamp to be switched on. Threads here seem to be dominated by the 'three amigos', but this isn't that. A friend's ABS light illuminated about a week ago. The lamp is...

Disco 2 Please educate me on Disco 2 air suspension

So here we have it, my first post, cherry about to be popped. Please will someone point me to an article or thread that will describe the main components of the Disco 2 air suspension, and the way they work to achieve self-levelling. This question prompted by seeing a friend's Disco rear...

    Disco by proxy.

Hi all, The impetus to join up is provided by the initial need for a little help with a Disco fault, but while I'm here... There are two Discos in my life, and neither of them are mine. My own motor passion is on two wheels, or if on four then small, light, fast, and made in Hethel gets my pulse...
