Freelander 1 Freelander 1 - Dacia Steel Wheels

Are the rims hub or wheel centric? I.e. how do they centre on the hub? Most alloy wheels are hub centric, hence the need for a matching centre bore. As in an alloy is centred and located on the hub and wheel nuts simply hold the wheel in place. Many steel rims have a larger centre bore, at...

Freelander 1 Rapid tyre and brake wear

99.99% of the time brakes don't really squeal as such. The noise is actually a very fast vibration of the back of the pad on the piston of the caliper. As you put heat into the brakes, things will expand, so it may vary when it happens, also may vary at different speeds or amount of braking...

    110 Project

It'll be the displacement, V5 really doesn't care or list the make of an engine or if it has turbos or not. Just displacement and the engine number. The the Izusu is 2.8 litres instead of the factory 2.5 litres, it'll be easy to spot if its been changed or not.

3D model looks cool. As for the gearbox, that is probably a good thing. It looks to have the Defender gear selector and not a Disco one and the seat box is orange, so likely a replacement. Meaning you have the correct seatbox and transmission tunnel for an R380. You might need to check which...

    110 Project

You need to read the guidance online and decide for yourself, however there is nothing written or stated that it must be 100% original. There are also 2 sides to this: - MoT exempt - Historic vehicle for £0/zero rate road tax They have slightly different regs and guidelines. Read them both...

    101 tyres and wheel banding.

Ok, didn't know it was clickable. Not sure where it gets the size from, but I've been on lots of American forums and it is a common theme that 35's are less than 35". I'd suggest they would be the same height as the other tyre you are looking at, which would concur with the BFG site. As for...

Freelander 1 Rapid tyre and brake wear

What I find amazing is, how could this be a surprise? Did you never even glance at the vehicle as you walked towards it? Worn tyres would be hugely obvious, let alone ones as you describe.

Series 2a diesel straight through exhaust

Benefits would be the same as on ANY other engine. The Land Rover one doesn't confirm to different laws of physics. That said, any gains will be minimal as the engine makes so little power anyway. As for noise, difficult to tell. Its not as if the engine is quiet and refined anyhow. And plenty...

No you don't, that isn't how engines work and defiantly not a 4 stroke diesel.

What mods are required for this......

It depends... what do you want to do with such a vehicle? If it pose and nothing more arduous than a Tesco carpark then a lot less than if you want to off road it. I'm not against big wheels, but be aware they'll blunt performance, esp on something like a Tdi, reduce braking efficiency, induce...

That is the dilemma I'm afraid. Expensive luxury vehicles do normally depreciate. My p38 had a list price of £54k or so, way back in 1999. I paid £2300 for it 9 1/2 years ago. My Uncle has an L405 Range Rover TDV8, think he paid £29k a few years ago for it and that was over £120k new. Bentleys...

Have you driven or been in a Defender? They are nice vehicles, but a big step down in refinement and power from a V8 L322 as well as luxury. Defender prices are all over the show at the moment, although arguably dropped a bit. Although lots of silly handbag fashion accessory ones priced at...

    101 tyres and wheel banding.

Most "35 inch" tyres are less than 35". Not sure where your figures are from. But as an example... This is pretty standard, as 31.10.50 would be 30.5" tall, a 33.12.50 would be 32.5" tall. What is your intended use and do you use the step on the factory wheel rim to get in/out? Then it has...

That's not how it works. Well worth looking it up if you are buying a car, new or used. https://www.whatcar.com/news/your-legal-rights-if-something-goes-wrong-with-your-car/n3307 Some key take-aways highlighted. Land Rover never sold or produced a 2wd Freelander, therefore the seller would...

Has anyone tried contacting the vehicle manufacturers for a coc certificate to see what the true nox levels are especially the older models rangie

Yes. If its for ULEZ, the 4.0 is ok, but I think there is an error for a 4.6 as the numbers are stupid high by comparison and can't have been correct. Either that or the 4.0 is wrong and way too low. I don't think anyone really cared about Nox back in the day, so it probably wasn't double checked.
