Side repeater lights, any tricks to open them?

I see your point. So it would have depends on the previous owner and whatever garage the previous owner took the car to, and it depends on them fitting it the wrong way round? Okay, I'll try sliding it in both directions and see which way it will move. Thanks.

Side repeater lights, any tricks to open them?

Yeah, it is supposed to be a simple job as you put it, just slide the housing and pull it off. But for some reasons, I find them a lot harder, they hardly moved at all with any tricks I could use, including using a coin to try to push it. Sometimes I'm starting to wonder if my kid is right...

Side repeater lights, any tricks to open them?

Funny you should ask, that's what my son said. He asked if the factory used superglue to put it on. I told him, no, you're supposed to open it to change the bulbs.

Side repeater lights, any tricks to open them?

Okay, so I have to place a cloth at the end of the chisel and push it? I hope it don't rip the cloth open and the chisel scratch my Freelander. Will try this trick, thanks.

Side repeater lights, any tricks to open them?

I know that, but the point is I've been trying to slide it in order to prise it out, but it's stuck. Is there a trick to it? For example: Use a thumb to push it? Turn your hand round, use your finger to try to pull it towards where it should slide to? Use WD4 first then slide it? Short of a...

Side repeater lights, any tricks to open them?

You meant I may have to push both ends towards each other in order to pull it out?

Side repeater lights, any tricks to open them?

2005 4Td. Been trying to remove the side repeater lights unit. Manual says to slide it towards the rear of the car, Haynes says to slide it towards the front of the car. Been trying to slide it (either way) but it seems to be hard. I tried using a coin as a leverage but still no dice. Is there...

Clacky feel when moving off - should I be worried?

Oh great. I look it up in the Haynes manual, that's a garage job??

Clacky feel when moving off - should I be worried?

I have a Haynes Owners Workshop Manual, number 5571. Can't find it in the index, any chance you could point me to which page, so I can look it up and check out the front diff mount you mention?

Clacky feel when moving off - should I be worried?

Sorry, but I can only feel vibrations, not hear the sounds. I would have to get someone to come along for the ride and tell me about it.

Clacky feel when moving off - should I be worried?

2005 Freelander Td4 with manual gear. When moving off from 1st gear (and rarely from 2nd gear if car is still rolling), sometimes there would be some kind of a one or two clacky kind of sounds, I could feel it vibrate through from under the car. Not a banging sound, more like some kind of a...

What have you done to your Landie today.

Yesterday (Saturday 20th), I gave my best friend, her kids, and her cats a lift to their new home that's about 60 miles away. She was the first passenger in my Freelander, and now I'm going to miss her company in my Freelander.

Freelander 1 Euro 6 conversion? Charge?

Guys, guys, many thanks to all of you. At latest you've all give a better and clearer answer than what Google throws up.

Freelander 1 Euro 6 conversion? Charge?

If by "city car" you meant like Smart Fortwo, Citroen C1, Renault Twingo, and the likes, no thanks, I'm sticking to my Land Rover. I'm not going to be the bad guy who puts Landyzone.co.uk out of action by jumping ship. :-) Only option I have at the moment is to move outside the LEZ.

Freelander 1 Euro 6 conversion? Charge?

@Avocet1 and @Nodge68 Thanks guys, I see your points, so totally can't be done. Bugger! Looks like I won't be able to drive around in the middle of the city centre, unless I find out if it's total no go zone, or if there is a charge to pay. But can't believe there's no way of conversion...

Freelander 1 Euro 6 conversion? Charge?

Edinburgh is going to have (if not already got) a low emission zone. It seems diesel cars have to meet the Euro 6 Standards to be allowed to drive in the zone. I'm trying to find more details on the matter of two subjects. First is: I've seen the mention of "Euro 6 conversion" and similar...

Does Freelander have anything that can be misdiagnosed?

Oh I see, so the MOT was done in late January as well as the fact that it's only like about within 5 minutes drive away, so there would be a leak? And after cleaning it up then re-test it, considering that it was about Spring when I took the car to the other garage which is like 10 minutes...

Does Freelander have anything that can be misdiagnosed?

Okay, so the pump could leak therefore fail the MOT as the test was done in late January, so it's cleaned up, re-tested and passed, but now that it's spring and warm weather, it could look fine to the other garages? Is this possible? I'm wrong, correct me, but if I got it and you say that's...

Does Freelander have anything that can be misdiagnosed?

My Freelander Td4 failed the MOT at a garage I usually use for MOT and simple repairs. "Fuel system component leaking excessively or a risk of fire Offside Front (Dripping off engine tray) [6.1.3(b)(ii)]" They cleaned it up and maybe applied a temporary fix to it, enough for it to pass the...

    3 amigos on dash

Hi Gareth, I have a Freelander and I did have the "Two Amigos" a number of times. So I looked it up, it seems there are various and different options, mostly related to the "Three Amigos" on the Discovery more often than the Freelander. Including in the many of various answers is something about...
