tis simples ;). there should be a small hole in the tube bit that holds the barrel. stick something down there to depress a tab on the barrel and (with the key in) wiggle the barrel out

I stick cheap 15w40 in my 300tdi. I change it every year, and the filter, so not fussed about how cheapo it is

if you follow it then it should end somewhere close to at the same height as the top of the rear wheel. may as well replace the tubing and put some pushfit valves on.
