Any way to stop lpg freezing??

I'm with P76rangie on this, as I have my vapourisor plumbed directly in line with the heater and have never had a freee up. However, one word of warning if you intend to go this route. This only works if the heater cannot be switched off, as is the case on early Rangies. I don't know if this...

    LPG systems

Thanks for the link, very interesting. Of course the 'plan' of the LPGA (now re-branded UKLPG?) is to make any car not converted by their members uninsurable, that has always been their aim:doh: It isn't working, however........ as I said I insured my bobtail a couple of weeks ago! Don't...

    LPG systems

It was a joke (see grin) but seriously, assume for the sake of argument, a customer of yours comes back to you with an out of date tank. What do you advise? I have looked on the interweb for 'car LPG Tank Recertification' and not found a thing. Nothing on VOSA site either. Cheers Chris

    LPG systems

Hmm. Look, well done for coming on here and giving us the LPGA Installer's point of view but frankly, this is just 'scare mongering'. Contrary to the view that you have repeated in a number of posts, whilst having an LPGA Certificate makes insurance simple, not having one does not make your...

    LPG systems

Surely, as a responsible Approved supplier, you should be contacting your customers as their tanks are due to expire and arranging an inspection.:D Who actually does the inspection, what do they inspect and how much does it cost? My guess is it's probably easier to just fit a new tank and be...

    EFi=Bin Carbs in!

You would need to change the fuel pump to a low pressure version. The efi pump works at about ten times the pressure needed for carbs. Cheers Chris

    Cash offer....

Insurers don't enforce the requirement to have a Certificate, the create the requirement as part of their risk management. For them, clearly it is less risky to have an independant verification of a system's integrety than not. They cannot force you to have a certifiate but by the same token...

    Cash offer....

I'm sorry Claw but that is simply not true. There is no legal requirement for an LPG system to be Certified. (unless the law has changed whilst I wasn't looking). Of course the system must use components that are Certified for use in the EU. That having been said, an uncertified...

    bob tailing my rangy

Before you start chopping, I would Google 'Bobtail and SVA/IVA' and have a good read of the threads that come up. These days it is just too much hassle and expense to get legal. Cheers Chris

    v8 3.5 still wont start

Hello Gromit, I don't know much about 90 fuel tanks but I would have thought that the first consideration would be to obtain a pump that is an exact fit for the hole in the tank vacated by the EFI pump. If the 2.5 pump fits and you can get one cheap then give it a try. I suspect that whilst...

    v8 3.5 still wont start

3 to 4 Bar is 42 to 56 psi. So about 10 times the pressure required.

    v8 3.5 still wont start

Hm thanks....I may put that in my signature.....if I could work out how to do it:D Actually I am now trying to visualise a device to hook easystart cans onto the carbs to get a constant stream to run the engine. I guess I have invented FUEL INJECTION:D Cheers Chris

    v8 3.5 still wont start

So you have an original 90 V8 EFI and you have changed to SUs. It will start on easystart but it won't start on petrol. Did you change the fuel pump? An EFI fuel pump will be delivering fuel at about 10 times the pressure that the carbs can cope with.

    v8 3.5 still wont start

OK, so when you say you have converted your V8 to SUs, converted from what? Strombergs, EFI? it would be helful to know. What vehicle is this in and was it the original engine. I ask this only because looking back, you have asked questions about a number of different vehicles. On the face...

How to fix up a two door RRC

Nice work John, quiet day at the office? Watch for paint reaction if you're going to paint over the Hamerite. You'll need a special primer on first. Ask me how I know that:doh: Cheers Chris

    Trailing arms

Theoretically, double cranked arms are better because they restore the original geometry and are less likely to foul on the axle bracket compared to a single crank. In reality, however, how much of a problem this is, I don't know. Fitting them should allow more suspension travel although...

how the fook do you get the seat off the base?

Forget what I said, clearly my memory aint what it was:doh: It is the seat base that bolts to the tranny tunnel. I must have taken mine out still attached. Sorry m8 Cheers Chris

how the fook do you get the seat off the base?

I certainly had mine off. If its the same, I seem to remember that there are 4 bolts. 2 into the seat box and 2 into the transmission tunnel. Slide the seat fully back to expose the front 2 and fully forward to get to the rears. My memory isn't what it was though so I'll look tomorrow...
