not a defender 200tdi though, a disco

missed this post, very interesting, as ive a spare 200tdi in me workshop. i thought about a rebiuld for it, but did,t think it would be cost affective as there cheapish to pick up.

does putting a bit of petrol with you diesel bugger anything up in the injection pump?

hows it stop you turning the steering wheel ?? just looked for a detailed pic but could,nt find one.

i put a disco trans box on me 90, one of the best things ive done. running on 265 x 85s, pulls like a good un in 5th even up hill, and when towing. ive a 200tdi in it.

ooh never thought of painting them. it will be connected, as soon as i find some 68mm id flexi hose. would you use heat proof paint on the drums?

thought about painting it a metalic gold, what you recon hughesy:rolleyes:

i have a snorkel fitted on me 90. bought it a while ago, put it on as it were getting in me way in me workshop. looks great, but it aint connected up.

to drill and tap (no where near technical) i would have to remove transfer box again??? i assume the "rear bearing support" is the casing behind the handbrake drum??

i have the same problem, the handbrake linkage!! the one off me 90 box wont fit on the disco box. is that all you did to get the cable to fit????

200tdi, most versatile, cheap bits, no ellecs realy and easy to work on.

got it sorted know!!! took front prop off, jacked the back wheels off the ground spun the a few times, ajusted the linkage, put it back together. whent for a drive, no whining, high/low/diff work fine. and im well pleased with it, think it will be good on the back roads and good on motorways.

havent got that far yet, going to have another look at it tomorrow.

no it aint that, as it were fine on the dicso it came off. think ive done something thats made it tight, front prop were very tight whe i put it back on !!!!

today i put a disco transfer box on me 90 (that has a 200tdi) turned out to be a right bastid of a job, but got there anyway. thing is in low box it wines its head off. jumped out of high box into nuetral, but i think that just needs ajusting. any ideas why it wines through all the gear in...

ive got meself another 200tdi to go in me 90. it sits in me workshop at the minute, i were thinking i would put a new timing belt on, clutch, perhaps water pump. is there out else i should check/replace?? any advice is good thanks.
