Freelander 3 door parcel shelf/ boot load cover

They are simply following the crowd as car manufacturers tend to with most things. Most manufacturers don't include load covers as standard (or even as options in some cases) on their 3 door 4x4s. Cheers Rog

Isn't that what he's doing on this forum? Or are we not actually on the internet and are all communicating using The Force? Cheers Rog

    new td4 owner

    1. A dealer won't do anything to a car but wash it until a buyer is found. 2. Price is on the high side. With that mileage the trade value is £9K. An independant normally sells about £1K above trade and a main dealer (like Stratstone) another grand over that. That puts the retail price at a...

    new td4 owner

Unusual but becoming more common. EU law now permits the servicing of cars at non-main dealers without invalidating any warranty. The requirements are that it must be serviced by a VAT registered garage, must use original parts and must follow the manufacturer's service schedule. This company...

Company car does not automatically mean a rep's car. Most big firms give their managers company cars and these are just used for commuting - Often just to the nearest railway station and back everyday! Cheers Rog

    wheels rub

I wouldn't have thought that the wheels should rub but it is not without precedent - In the past I have owned a Fiat and a Volvo both of which had factory alloys (Fiat 16"; Volvo 17") and these both rubbed the wheel arch liners on full lock. Maybe someone else with a FL Sport with 18"s can...

    gaylander drivers please read!!

I am a coach driver in London and I have lost count of the number of times a day I have nearly taken out a motorcycle (or push bike) because they have decided to go through a gap that I need to swing the coach through to turn. I do watch out for bikers but it is a two way street (no pun...

Have 4+4 values dropped more than other vehicles

It's always up and down with a sectors of cars depending on lots of factors (fuel costs, tax, image, time of year, supply, etc). 4x4s have taken a bigger dip in the last couple of months than other sectors but prior to this have been very strong despite all the affecting conditions. The big...

    Sat nav or speedo

GPS is more accurate that your regular speedo. All speedos are a bit out (normally read faster than you are going) unless the are calibrated. Car do not (normally) have calibrated speedos although you can get them done. Police traffic cars (not pandas or vans!) and heavy commercial vehicles...

    Winter weather advice.

Cold water straight from the tap in a jug is generally good enough. You want to be careful putting warm or hot water on frozen glass as it can cause cracks. Pour the cold water on and then get the wipers going if it's really cold so it doesn't re-freeze! Cheers Rog

Im so fed up with my freelander going wrong!!!!

When I bought my 2003 TD4 I had a couple of problems - but this is no different to any other car I have ever bought. With these sorted by the dealer it's now six months later and have had no further problems. In my experience, all cars will have something wrong when you first get them. This...

Freelander TD4 year 2004. No fuel filter ??? Help

You say driver's side but you don't say if your car is LHD or RHD! If you look at the engine bay from the front the fuel filter is on the right hand side towards the rear of the engine bay. Cheers Rog

    Wiper Blades

I suspect I know the answer to this (you get what you pay for!) but has anyone tried the cheap wiper blades they are currently doing at Wilkinsons? Are they likely to be the false economy I think they will be? Might be worth a punt to find out... Cheers Rog
