    110 Steering Woes

I wouldn't assume. Also they're really bloody awkward to get right, even Landy mechanics and experienced owners need to play about with it just to get them correct (Christ knows how they done them in the factory). But if I were you I'd double check what the preload currently is as if it's far...

    110 Steering Woes

Unless his UJs are absolutely gubbed I can't see them having so much slack that he's got an inch of play either way. Like yours mine is spot, a slight movement of the steering wheel when driving translates directly to the wheels. If he had the issue before he changed the steering box I can't see...

    110 Steering Woes

Have you correctly set the swivel preloads?

    Sound deadening material

Did you paint the frame or fit a new one? Mine is rough, asked YRM if it's something they would consider doing and they said no not at the moment which seems a bit daft to me considering it always rusts to hell.

    Sound deadening material

I bought quite a few rolls of this for doing my roof, sides, rear door etc... super cheap, super sticky and works really bloody well. The difference in noise before and after is noticeable and it's also made a huge difference in the insulation as well and I no longer have tons of condensation...

What is this on my defender 110

300 quid!? Jesus, all that for a piece of steel tube that rusts within a week

Wheels stick out further on passenger side!?

What's the spacers for? Take them off and refit the wheels and see if it makes any difference

Death wobble and swivel pin preload.

Update on this. I've now replaced the radius arm bushes and panhard rod bushes with genuine pattern parts and while I think it does feel a bit smoother on the road I've still got the same issue, albeit I don't think as bad. Redid the swivel pin preload and tightened them up a little, same...

Death wobble and swivel pin preload.

Just the bog standard ones, I don't tend to fit polybushes

Death wobble and swivel pin preload.

No idea mate but never had any fail like this before, they've only been fitted about 6 months

Death wobble and swivel pin preload.

I reckon I may have found a big part of the issue. Removed the panhard rod and the bushes are completely degraded after only a few months so those will be getting replaced as will the radius arm bushes just to be sure

    Abysmal power on hills.

What did you do to sort it? What symptoms did you have?

    Abysmal power on hills.

Checked the lift pump when I took it out the box and it's nice and strong, great suck and blow action which is what I like. The fuel lines are larger than standard, I replaced them all years ago. I might replace the fuel filter again and stick a cleaner through it and see if that helps as...

    Abysmal power on hills.

It's as clean as it is. Never had this problem before and it does tend to sit parked up for weeks at a time (not so much now).

    Abysmal power on hills.

Changed the fuel filter to rule that out and the pick up pipe and sender are new

    Abysmal power on hills.

Please help before I burn this thing. I had my Landy parked up for about 4 months and then I drove it for a little while then I started the rebuild. Prior to the lay up it was fine but since then and after the rebuild it has been shocking on hills and I feel like I've got no power whatsoever...

Death wobble and swivel pin preload.

It's not the a frame, and not quite a clonk. It's more of a click like something moves slightly at the front end but nothing is loose that I can see. This rattling through the steering has been happening since before the rebuild but the occasional death wobble is new

    Forward facing rear seat conversion

Would depend entirely on what it is. I asked them about a relatively common part (can't mind now what it was) and they said they don't make it and had no plans to at this point.

Death wobble and swivel pin preload.

Well it's a new chassis so can't see that being the issue and the axle end is fine. It definitely seems to be much more likely to happen when I'm going round a left bend and hit a pothole or bump with the left wheel but I only think it's this, I can't say for certain. Wheel bearing and swivel...

Death wobble and swivel pin preload.

I did check those and tightened them up even more but when I put it all back together they were torqued to specs. The bushes are new as are the bolts
