    Steering (mis)alignment L322

Nobody's mentioned tyre pressures yet. A lower pressure in one side will cause it to pull to that side. Make sure both front and rear pressures are the same on each side.

    M62, 4.4 2002 cylinder compressions

I'm inclined to agree with Irish here. For a whole bank to go down like that is rather strange. Maybe the word 'Vanos' is a clue. If the valve timing has got totally messed up on that bank, you'd get a similar effect. Maybe the rings are a bit tired as well as Wammers says but the compression...

    Which range rover?

The P38 is nicer to ride in but the Classic is more fun and simpler. But they do rot. Everywhere. The Vogue was a special edition initially when the P38 came out but after a couple of years or so I think just became the top model as it was on the Classic. I'm not sure how much difference there...

    new air springs

I had Gen II's fitted last year and have been very happy with them but the old originals were pretty knackered so it's difficult to compare. I can happily recommend them though.

    P38 Tyre pressures

But why do we need 38 in the rear if you're not carrying anything? Always seems a bit odd to me. Did/do Land Rover think that Range Rover owners don't want to be bothered with altering pressures when the Chauffeur is on holiday?

    M62, 4.4 2002 cylinder compressions

I'n no expert on the 4.4 but I'd say you have a problem on that bank of 1/3/5/7. 85-100PSI is far too low. 145-150 is marginal for a newish engine I would have thought. (I get 160-170 out of my 20 year old 3.9). It's odd though just to have a whole bank go down. Did you test them all identically...

    how do i use microcat?

I have a copy of Microcat that's working OK on XP but I have to change the date to 12th April 2007 for it to work. On installation though, I had to replace a file C:\MCLRE\MG16.DLL with the file from the discs registration folder and then delete the MG16.DLL file from C:|Windows\System32. All OK...

Probably in the fuse box as that's the common item here. Well known failure point. Cure by renewing. Soon.

No, Lamborghini is owned by VW through Audi.

    Strangest/most amusing electrical 'qwerk' yet!

Definitely that. The original radios fitted to these had illumination that was dimmable along with the dash lights. That's what you have connected to your mute circuit.

    Fuel gauge doesn't work...

What year is yours? The only thing under the inspection hatch on mine is the fuel pump. The fuel gauge sender is on the side. The wires on the top there are for the fuel pump only.

RR SC : noise coming form the front wheels

Tyres / road noise? How do you mean diff lock? You don't have diff locks on the axles (as far as I know), only the centre viscous coupling. Even if that was knackered, you wouldn't get the symptoms you're describing. Does it increase in pitch with either an increase in speed or increase in...

    p38 dash lights

Have you tried altering them on the dimmer (the little switch on top of the left hand stalk)? Otherwise it could be a break in the wires from this switch (or a shed load of blown bulbs - but unlikely I know).

    Fog lamps

Bugger. I always forget that bit.

    Fog lamps

The wiring is usually in place for them. Which model / engine / gearbox do you have? You're not supposed to fit fog lamps to the diesel auto as there's an oil cooler for the gearbox that will be blocked off if you do.

RR SC : noise coming form the front wheels

The SC is the clue here - it's the supercharger you can hear.
